More DirectTV boards an questions on value for them..

    Hello all,

Direct TV guy brought me some more goodies today. These are different then last LNB boards I posted. One of the main differences is Size, and this one type of LNB had a gold foil in it, that was sandwhiched between the case and the card. Rather thick feel to it, not a thin film of a foil but a sturdy kind of feel to it, if that makes sense. Anyhow..Pics are below, if you have any thoughts, knowledge on the value of these I'd surely like to know. They are of course going into my OMG ITS GOLD Bucket ™, but I'd be interested in hearing what you all thought the values of these would be.

Thanks for any help you can give as always.

    Sirscrapalot - I got jokes..and gold.

    This is from a LNB

Backside of a LNB board, came from same LNB as first pic, was three in that one, as opposed to the normal two I find per LNB, can't find the front pic I took.

First shot of the foils..we'll call it' front side.

Second shot, call it the back side..

after looking at these there are alot of pcb that are exposed with very little population. If I were to buy these.. I would buy them at motherboards prices. due to the fact there is alot of unpopulated areas. I don't see any alum or copper so thats is a plus.. so.. motherboards or a tad higher. not much.. it be like getting a board that looks like this.

but with a few populated items on it. and it would still go into motherboards.

but thats My take.. Like to hear from others what there input would be.. Good question Sir.. like what you got.

Well now I know what equipment you got those ones out of!

An yes..many many screws. The foils are sweet I think. I didn't even recoginize them but now that you mention it they do look familiar Trot. Heh. Teach me to break things down like that late at night.

I got a nice little bucket full of the little metal casing things that hold them down to. An if I didn't say it before..a bunch of screws! Good to know you got your answer on the silver. I like gold an silver, so both being there are good with me.

In to the save me bucket they go till someone makes me an offer I can't refuse or I get enough to make it worth having something done with them.
Now if I could figure out why they put that infernal epoxy/glue/whateveritisbutitsannoying on the one set of screws on the LNBs I'll be happy.

Thanks for the info Trot, an your ideas on them PCS, always appreciated.

I sold some boards like those "foil" ones on ebay for $25 per pound with free shipping. Mine had continuous gold plating on the entire board and the board was thicker than a quarter in some places. Not saying they are worth that refined, or that I would buy them for that price, or really even that you get that price for them now in the current market. Just saying I sold some like that for that price. I had been offered $8 per pound by some buyers on this forum.

In the end, things will be worth what someone is willing to pay for them. And at times it appears to have nothing at all to do with their actual melt value..
