With motivation inspired by the video of Frank's stripping machine, I built my own a while back. I used the frame & rollers from a discarded treadmill. One of the rollers was already knurled which grips the insulated wire. I attached a Harbor Freight 1/2" drill to the motor shaft (as the treadmill motor used additional DC circuitry I did not care to keep). I also installed a Harbor Freight foot pedal to control the machine. It strips solid wire like crazy! I attached a TNT Tooling
wire stripper to the top (powered by a Harbor Freight 3/8" drill & foot pedal) for stranded wire. Together they are quite the dynamic duo! Keep your fingers out the rollers!
