    Today at the auction...

Well like normal what use to be a nice 80 person auctionhouse had 300 plus people at it today. With silver spot at $30.90 people were bidding $35 plus an ounce on silver stuff today. So needless to say I didnt get anything to scrap from the auction today but I did get a shoplight for my shed for $2.50 and a box full of brass and ammo for $7.50 that had at least 10 pounds of brass and about $80 worth of usable ammo. So all in all not a total loss.

10 Lbs of brass casings can be made into $400-$500 worth of 'Trench art' if you put a bit of time into it.
You need a drillpress & a workbench. I have pics in one of my posts here.

    First Auction

Last month attended my first auction which was interesting

1 gaylord of punched hard drives went for $1500 estimate weight over a ton
2 gaylords of scrap went for $2100 looked like allot of wire some stainless

There were 100 lots and tons of computers and electronics. I went to the preview and saw several lots not online or in the catalog which were really good deals. The doors opened at 8AM so I turned to at 5AM and unfortunately got into an altercation with someone on the loading dock. Hung in there and came up empty handed. How good were the deals?

    10 21" iMacs $800, 57 P4 computers $400, 1 pallet of servers $200

Someone made 10k before the auction even started..................

Sounds like a good find PTS, but yea people are nuts with their $$ at times. I'm guessing you went the house in Littleton, cramped quarters when they start packing them in.

The 57 p4 computers scraped out worth $912+
gaylord of hard drives (if no hole) $1600 to $1900

There was some good profit to be made on the desktops...the hard drives not so much

Hey PTS, you might want to check out this site, it's where I'm going to sell my brass. They say you can get the best prices here.

That was the one I was thinking of, thought it was in Littleton. I think it's the "Lightning Round" at the end where people bring stuff up that hasn't been sold yet, that's pretty fun trying to sneak stuff up without others noticing.

The trick to that is to not let people bring it up so you can get it for cheaper after the lightning rounds. After lightning rounds is when most people leave.
