Normally, I don't buy things, but if the price is right.

So easy a caveman could do it. Not much different then most websites you set up an account for.

Well as funny as it may sound, I tried it a few times, but I am guessing it was a different, but similar site. I am all signed up now.

Every time I entered a big for this: http://www.publicsurplus.com/sms/auc...iew?auc=675784, it automatically tells me that prgiva is using proxy bidding and automatically outbid me?

I would bid on the 3rd one, but at $63, I doubt there be any profit in it.

Proxy bidding is bidding by computer up to his hi dollar amount, and then it'll stop. Otherwise it'll keep bidding automatically as soon as you do. He doesn't have to be present.

Makes sense, and pretty smart actually.

There is a LOT of stuff in that category, but so far, nothing else is really catching my "eye"

When ever possible I like to be at my computer for that last 5 minutes rather then leave a proxy bid for someone to run up. And as I mentioned somewhere before, if there is no action on something they can and will lower the price, so no sense in bidding sometimes till the last minute.

I saw several auctions for multiple stainless steel sinks with the works. Looked like commercial types to me. All for CHEAP. Got to make sure I will have my truck and trailer when the auctions end first.

Obviously if I had known, I wouldn't have asked.

For all I knew, it was something specifically for that site alone.

If I am expected to know 100% of everything of owning any business, no one would own any business. Things change all the time. Not saying that proxy bidding is something new, but none the less, the point is, you do learn something new all the time.

I personally agree with KZBell. I would never use proxy bidding. I love technology, but it is only so good. Just like being a human, technology has its flaws.

Lets say you choose proxy bidding. Lets say you choose to set you max at $500 for an item. Lets say that the server had a hiccup, and instead of stopping at $500, it would keep bidding till you hit say $1,000. Lets say the item is only work $600, but you were okay with $100 profit. Well now, you will be out $400 in the event you cant sell the item for $1,100.

Also, I wasn't even thinking about selling the sinks to a restaurant, but that is a good idea. I am not sure if brand new places around here would buy used equipment, but places that need a replacement, I am sure would.

I've won 2 auctions of worth on this site... all probably because the people that are shipping them out were too busy picking up there super big loads. and left the little one alone.

Just asking out of curiosity.
