Pallet of cell phones...to bid or not to bid

500 lbs of cell phones, batteries and chargers.

It ends today, it's @ $360. What would be the highest you would bid on it and still make $ after shipping. I'm assuming there is about 30% or so in accessories.

Cell phones are running at about $5.50 a lb to a buyer so do the math, your problem might be finding a good value buyer out west.

Mech Retrocycle would pay for the shipping on that. and you have a massive chance of getting more valuable phones. For that reason i suggest you call jack on this one

Looks like a lot of nextels. I also see a few blackberrys on top as well. I would go up to 1k based on fact that there are good prices from buyers on here, especially if you can work out something on shipping costs.

Yeah that is a no brainer I would prob go over that 1000 mark.......Ewasted current prices I think cell phones over 6.00 lb plus he buys the batteries at around 1.00/lb
500lb at 6/lb is $3000 if my math is not totally off.....Figure 25-35 pounds of plastic backs you would have to remove and mabye 50 lbs of batteries so your still looking at around $2400 worth just in scrap.............I suck at math but that is my take on it so I would prob go to $1500

I hope you got that deal, I don't know what time the sale ended but would have just kept biding the min. until I won and try to get it as cheap as I could.

Wow, someone must know something I don't. That sure seems like a lot to pay plus auction fees and sales tax of 14.8%.

yeah cause you can have refurbish able phones and sell them. that guy came out ok. im sure with that many pounds he could get good pricing just as scrap and still be in the black. many other ways to make it happen if you got the connections.
