I came across a 1/2 full coffee can of mixed small type batteries. I know the Alkaline ones have no value other than shred. Some are Silver oxide and Lithium Manganese not sure if they have any value.

Silver oxide batteries are worth money, I don't think the others are.

ive been saving them in a coffee can, the motherboard buyers dont want those left on the board, it would be great if we had a buyer for them

I save mine also and when I open the container I get hit in the face with a whiff of toxicicity! I'm not sure what happens in there but dahym.

CORRECT! They do have value. (They can be worth about $50 a pound).
However, now is not the best time to sell. (Silver has recently dived in price [per ounce] from about 37? dollars an ounce, down to about 23 dollars an ounce.) So, I'd hold on to your silver--for now. I am sure, however that it won't be long until these prices REBOUND. But until that time, I'd keep hoarding them, for now.

I have been saving all kind of batteries, if best buy takes them so should you! When prices continue to go up, which they always will, you will be able to sell them. SO I say sit on them, not literally, unless your into that sort of thing, lol.

I was saving them from mother boards until my local buyer said I could leave them on the board. Most of them are Lith-ion but I don't know what the others are made of, there is no markings as to what they are made of. Sure would like to find a buyer for the Lith-ion ones at least.

It's only a matter of time. Originally when there were buyers for lithium ion laptop batteries, they did not want the same from a cell phone. Now there are buyers for those. At some point they will perfect the process of breaking these down and we will get a price for them.
Just my opinion.
We are still basically at the forefront of an industry that has a lot of change coming to it. It is still figuring out how to do stuff and do it cheaper.

Alkaline - No buyer, add to steel
Silver Oxide - ?
Lithium Ion - Yes, buyers!
Lithium PILE - ? These are rechargable ones from cameras.
Lithium button Batteries - No? ?
NI MH - ?
NI Cad - ?
There is a buyer for the silver oxide on the buyer list here.
Ewasted is buying NiMH, but it was like 20 cents a pound, not worth shipping.
NiCd I found one person offering 3 cents, and stopped looking then. Not worth my time.
I've been making a killing on eBay lately on rechargeable batteries for cameras and phones. Lithium digital video batteries selling like hotcakes for $20 each, and weigh ounces.

The silver oxide batteries do well with home refiners. They yield a nice amount of silver for their size. Most will want at least a pound of them if they are going to buy. If not maybe get in touch with Scott and see if he can do something with them.
