AGM Batteries

Do AGM batteries scrap like standard lead/acid? can you get more for them, or are they worth less?

Just curious. I might be due to replace the ones in my truck sometime soon (dual batteries) and would consider saving them and turning in some others for the core depending.

I scrapped 12 agm batteries out of my etruck and they went the same as lead acid battery prices.

Touched on this before.
Agm batts are just lead acid batteries with the electrolyte in a fibermat. This makes them a pain in the ass for smelters. Soon you will see smelters paying different like Steelcase. Why thr batteries mess up their pots and makes refining more difficult.
Amg gel batts are different in terms if charge discharge profiles and uses. I love them. U can shop in flat rate boxes and they are a dam nice batt. Well I like mk (east penn) ub and others are just Vietnam silkscreen ones. I'm your

No ego here though. I made some dumb moves and never finished school buy my education is priceless. Hands on and fist fulls of $$ and debit. Lol.

Do you mean "ship" them in flat rate boxes? If so, I'd advise against shipping hazardous material through USPS. They REALLY frown on that.

AGM batteries are not hazmat. I don't normally necropost but AGM batteries along with tool, laptop, and device batteries are all considered shippable by the USPS.

However, 3 batteries max for lithium ion batteries which means legally people cannot ship to the buyers in flat rate boxes. UPS has no notes for lithium ion batteries except that they can only be shipped domestic ground.

AGM batteries need only be marked "Non Spillable Batteries" and there is no limit. I for on encourage attempts at battery reviving, reason is, most AGM batteries do not produce sediment, and with the proper digital charger, most will come back after a few cycles to about 80% original capacity so long as they aren't cracked and they haven't been dropped.

I just yesterday called the Post Office about this as I have a box full of laptop Li-On batteries I was going to ship. The PO's regulation has changed. Batteries must be installed in the device they were intended to be used. Batteries can no longer be shipped separately, in any quantity.

Mick yes the lithium batts your right.

I ship tons of agm batts a week in flat rate boxes. No problems except for many broken batts. Nice little deal I got here.
