So in my wanders I found some illegally dumped batteries from some ass hats .
Wanting to clean up that possibly put some $ in my pockets are they worth scrapping ?
nickel–cadmium battery on the side made By Thomas Edison .
thanks

Is that the ones like Rolls Royce and the rail roads used that are filled with "battery oil"?
If so they sell if in good shape as I believe they can be rejuvenated.
The batteries that last forever.
Just like the first light bulbs. I have one or so around here some where.
As long as they don't loose their vacuum they will last forever basically.
I wonder about this advanced society where they went from light bulbs that didn't wear out to ones that will last as long as it says on the box. They have them almost timed to a science. I learned that when I had 4 bulbs that were always on. I learned to replace them as soon as one went out as the others were soon to follow.
so are there buyers or scrap yards that buy that stuff I guess Monday call around
I think nickle has some value.
Nickel | scrap metal forum
Iron and carbon and potassium hydroxide are much less valuable, but at least they are mostly harmless (although I would avoid get potassium hydroxide in your eyes).
nickle cadmium is the battery tech before lithium ion...last time I sold some they run about .20-.25/lb...might be a bit less now as I have not sold any lately
Nickle cadmium develops a "memory" and eventually stops charging...hence why we have lithium ion as they do not develop memory, the cells just wear out over time (ALOT more charge cycles).
Get a picture and make sure it is not nickle iron...those I have no idea the worth or recyclability ...let's take a look at them and see...I know there is a battery buying the the buyers section that I bet could give you more info on the value.

PROFIT is made when you BUY/ACQUIRE NOT when you sell
