Every time I read a story about metal theft it really makes my blood boil.

I'm sure that most of us know unscrupulous scrappers.. buyers and sellers alike.. and in reality, there are probably a few folks on this forum who fall into this category. But I think that the point of the matter is that if you are amongst the people in the above category, keep it to yourself and don't come on here bragging about it.
You can't control someone's actions but that's no excuse for glorifying them either. So as others have said, I am also impressed and have the utmost respect for the moderators and their integrity.
I agree i've had metal stolen from me luckily i'm large enough to recover from it about 16 tons of plate steel they left the aluminum and copper so that tells me they didn't know what they were doing

They did it down here on the sandbar, bunch of meth heads stole a truck from the yard, full loaded.
Didn't get far. Buch of idiots forgot there is only two ways off the sandbar. Cops had bother bridges blocked, an your not taking a big ass heavy scrap truck on a ferry.
An no they didn't work there. Never underestimate a addicts addiction. They'll do crazy stuff to get that money.
Freaking tweakers suck.

Old but not moldy thread that needs a bump.
A few years back when copper was high someone stole several hundred feet of newly installed underground cabe, they were caught rather quickly when they tried to turn it in for scrap. Fiber optic cable just isn't worth very much, unless you count the cost of repair and downtime for the communication company and frustrated people who lost their internet, tv, and phone for a week. I can only imagine what that conversation at the yard was like: Sorry we can't take that, it doesn't have any scrap value What do you mean it's not worth anything, it's brand new? Wait right here while I call the boss and we'll see what we can do for you..... By by now. Drugs help people see the hidden value in every thing, even when it's not there.

Worthy of being pinned if it hasn't been done already?

I hate thieves!
Before I had door locks installed on my 1987 Chevrolet truck, someone stole the radio and speaker (Was a single speaker on the transmission hump). That was annoying, but the funny thing was that we found it at one of our pick up bins a couple of weeks later!
I guess they just "borrowed" it???
