I'm guessing for the foreseeable future. We need to come out of this global recession before we'll see any real increase and all indications are that that will take years. I'm stockpiling copper and turning over the iron and computer scrap. Another trick - watch gas prices. Copper will (usually) follow gas prices.

I've been lucky lately. Last few times I sold my scrap, price went down the next day. And the few other times before that, price went up that morning.
Someone must be watching over me...

I got $2.52 a lb for #2 copper wire today, still down. Electric motors were down too.

Its dropped here in NZ too, twice in the last 2 weeks.
Was NZ$7.20/Kg
Now its $5.90/Kg

Thats a drop of US$1 per Kg or US$0.45 cents a Lb (?)

I just relised that the quote amounts (In $ or pounds of whatever nation) is pretty much exactly what I get for my Copper right now. ie its $7200/ton & I get NZ$7.20Kg.

Good news it is rising back up again towards $7000 a ton.
Lets hope it keeps on rising back up again.

I'll hoard for sure. I'm not buying now but as always accepting things for recycling. Steel has stayed .11/lb. for me so if I need to free up some cash I'll take prepared steel in. For now I'm good. I like the saying "Bears make money, bulls make money, pigs get slaughtered" Never heard it before but I concur.

Hi Mike,
Its really Bad you lose $30. Vaman Kumar said you must know that copper is a commodity that is very volatile and could change the price of its products. You do not need to worry too much prices will be fluctuated soo.
