If they are SAS drives I will be very interested in buying them. You can see what I pay for sas drives on my buyers thread. Also any 4gb or higher ram sticks from servers sell good as well. Power supplies can sell pretty good too. I havnt had much luck selling whole servers but some parts I do ok on.

Yeah all the little hard drives say SAS, the're very common, you get about 25 of them with every setup.
I couldn't find your SAS drive prices on your page.

I get 3 variations of the blades, although only two different FRU #s, one has two variants.
it would be good if I could identify what the difference is and what purpose the 3 variants have so here goes.

single blades are always FRU 43w6100's, when used as a single, it will have 2 little SAS drives with 148.8g each

double blades are FRU 40k7000's with the single one as above attatched to it. in this case it will have 3 little SAS with 74.4g each.

when the single is attached to the double, the 2 SAS are removed and an extra heat sink on.

i'd like to really know what's going on with the different boards aventually.
so yeah, these are the servers I find most so would like to really get this model down pat, know what it all is so I can look to sell one or two complete if I can.
I don't think it would be worth sending a small package to the U.S. but i'd like to organise a container share one day.
this is the same box as I get, I think the price may be inflated a bit just for the box don't you think? doesn't even have the cables.

Now that we know where you are some members may be able to help better.
The first thing that came to my mind is can you find a refiner near you? If someone in the USA is paying $13 US for ram there has to be more value in it. If you can find a refiner you can buy boards, CPU's etc and have it refined.
What is the going rate for low grade and high grade?
As to being you "friend" I don't know what your talking about but I am game. I like friends :] I did not intend to offend you.

I would imagine that shipping costs for complete servers would be more than the units, but parts wouldn't be too bad.
Finding buyers for the server parts might be a b***h tho. Plenty of places here but over there might be a different story.

That's where the intro helps out and we can tailor our advice to your specific situation "over there".
We have had other Aussi's on here trying to get an Ewaste business going but finding a buyer that pays halfway decent is going to be key. Even if it's further away, you can ship boards like we do here. But no it would not pay to ship over here unless you have enough to ship a container.

high grade boards about $3 a pound, no mattter whether a mother board, finger card or a control panel from a crashed ufo, same price.
cpu's $15 a pound regardless of what they are ect, so yeah at them prices most are just hoarding it.
I undertand there's a much bigger margin for us as not many actually pay for e-waste here, infact most e-waste collectors charge by the kilo to pick it up.
A tower is generally $7 to pick up as the charges are about 70c kg, a large photo copier or ups could cost $100 to have it picked up and recycled,
crt monitors are about $16 to pick up, you can imagine the cost of having e-waste picked up from a large office, goes into thousands, so it's rich pickings
if you pick it up for free.

These types of conversations always remind me of the Seinfeld episode where they are trying to recycle bottles in a different state and get the deposit. Of course you are going to find people tripping over themselves to give you escrap. YOU LIVE ON AN ISLAND, there really isn't an outlet like we have here.

There certainly is money to be made, you just would have to do a LOT of research and learn what has value and why. No one can impart this kind of knowledge on a forum. You need to learn the values, markets, shipping options, ect..

I'd especially be looking on the Gold Refining Forums to see if I could find a refiner in Aus. That would seem to be a more efficient way to get the max value out of ewaste. Just like on Sienfeld, the logistics of moving the material is going to be a big problem.

It seems like the prices aren't as bad as I would have imagined. You have something to work with. $3/lb for motherboards is good especially if that includes a peripheral boards as well. These make up the bulk of what you get anyway.

You might just have to process things a bit more to create more valuable material. You should see if the price is the same for finger boards with gold trimmed off. Same for the RAM. $15 is a good price for fiber cpus...just save ceramics and sell those on ebay. Gold fingers would be worth shipping, I'm sure. Or take the time to learn how to process them yourself.

yeah that's the grand plan, to process myself or have some part in setting it up.
not just gold plating, i'd like to process and extract all the metals from e-waste.

Seems things have moved quickly with technology, 6 or so years ago it cost millions for a good set-up,
now day's machines are much more affordable for the small-mid refiner, and it will keep getting cheaper
and be more efficient.

I'm waiting for the ultimate e-waste machine, something that's small, quiet, costs under 20k and all you
need to do is open the door, toss in a motherboard, press the button and in minutes, gold, platinum, palladium, silver, copper, aluminum, tin, plastic, lead, mercury ect,
all goes into there own bucket.
