    Question Printer Cartridge Buyers?

Does anyone have input on the best empty ink cartridge buyers? I have a box of them I know they are worth a few dollars each they are a good thing to stash.

i take mine into staples, office max, and office depot. they all give some form of store credit that is emailed to you once a month. downside you have to set up rewards program so i recommend setting up a burner email account to use just for this so your main email isnt clogged with SPAM. I use the store credit to buy shipping tape, packaging material, etc. Its easy once its set up. I think each store has a monthly limit so be sure to ask when you sign up what it is. Hope this helps.

I personally have used this company and was pleasantly surprised with the end result. You do have a 30 day period to get paid but my small tote load netted me about 40-45 dollars more than I was expecting.

I know local office stores do but I do not want store credit and their limit is crazy I have like enough to set the limit for the entire year.

Once again, forum search did not show me what I wanted to know.

    Thanks for the links!!!

Contact Us - Advantage Cartridge - Electronics and Printer Cartridges Recycling I ship these guys 150 lbs bi-monthly unsorted with anything from inkjets to toner bottles. If you have bulk they will sort for you free of charge & recycle what is not on there buying list. Also when you are shipping bulk they will buy other cartridges that are not on there list [not every one but a select few]. Most of the companies i have seen online have similar pricing. In the end, it is more about customer service & seller convience.

Any updates on experiences? I still have a 5 gallon bucket full of them and I am now ready to cash out. I will sort for greater profit if needed. Thanks!

I've found planet green cartridge pays pretty well with a good variety. Free shipping. The only thing is, I've found about 15-20% are rejected due to whatever issues arise in their testing. I'd guess that the case with most any buyer though.

Good to know, I was not aware or prepared to accept rejections.

My buddy has a grocery bag full of more of unopened new old stock printer ink, black and all colors varying makers. Kodak, cannon, HP stuff like that. No store will return them as they all haven't sold within X amount of time.

What should he do with these new old stock ink packages?

This is right off Staples website:

“*Each member is eligible to receive Ink Recycling Rewards (“recycling rewards”) on ink and toner recycling, as defined below, performed at Staples® stores or online at staples.com/rewards, if the member has spent at least $30 in ink and/or toner purchases at Staples over the previous 180 days. Ink and/or toner purchases made on the date of recycling are calculated toward minimum purchase requirement. Minimum purchase requirement is net of coupons, taxes and shipping charges. Ink resellers and remanufacturers are strictly prohibited from earning Ink Recycling Rewards.

Each Base Rewards member may recycle up to 10 cartridges per month, and each Premier Rewards member may recycle up to 20 cartridges per month of any used ink or toner cartridge sold at any retail store in the U.S. or on staples.com® and receive $2 back in recycling rewards per cartridge. In store, the member must be physically present at the store when the cartridges are turned in for recycling and a membership account is identified. Online, the member can log in at staples.com/rewards with their membership account to gain access to ink and toner recycling. Qualifying cartridges recycled online can take up to 10 business days for processing. Staples will accept additional cartridges for recycling, but recycling rewards will only be issued for the first 10 qualifying cartridges for Base Rewards members, or the first 20 qualifying cartridges for Premier Rewards members, per calendar month per member.

Recycling rewards are issued to the member monthly, online, at staples.com/rewards, separately from a member’s standard Rewards statement, approximately within 30 days after the month in which the recycling was completed. Issued recycling rewards may be used for the same purposes and are under the same restrictions as rewards. Dependent upon timing of recycling, additional processing time for qualifying cartridges recycled online may cause them to appear in the following monthly Rewards statement (approximately within 60 days). Recycling rewards are credited to the member’s Rewards account in full each month with no minimum required. Expired, lost or misdirected recycling rewards will not be reissued. Recycling rewards not received due to incorrect account information, including email address, will not be reissued.”

I don’t shop at Staples but there are a few things You should, make note of in the above statement.

    1) What are the Base Rewards Member requirements
    2) What are the Premier Rewards Member requirements

    and last, but most important

    3) This is not real money, it’s issued to whatever member account (Base or Premium) you belong too and can be used/applied as a credit against future purchases
I don’t know what other limits or restrictions may also apply, but I am willing to bet there are some.

BUT WAIT, all is not lost! there are actually better options to sell you old ink cartridges and get real cash (money) in return!

Here are a couple of websites that will not only pay you real money for your old cartridges but will also pay for the shipping, what a deal!

    ecyclegroup . com
    tonebuyer . com

Both sites have a price list of what they buy and how much they pay, so check them out.

Another option that may surprise you is one you are already familiar with, ebay.com. That’s right, you can sell your old cartridges on ebay but the key here is to list them as a lot sale with a minimum of at least 5 per lot. The bigger your lots, the better they will sell. Don’t waste your time trying to sale the 1 cartridge at a time, no one will by them as single units, you need to list lots.

You tell me, what would you rather have a store credit towards further purchases or cash money? No need to answer, I think I already know what it is.

    Hope this helps
