Cause your a Canuck I will field this first and hopefully save you from a firewall of flaming comments.

First, introduce yourself in the intro section. A couple lines is enough. Second, there are a number of factors that will affect your profits: How far do you have to go (gas $$$)?, are you re-selling anything or is it straight scrap? What can you afford to pay without financially hurting yourself?

Start with those questions and welcome to the forum where all the answers lie buried in the huge archive of past posts! Use the search bar (top right) and add "smf" at the end of your search query.

Buy them at scrap value or you will be very disappointed. Most of those are going to be a tough sell, though you may find some decent parts in them that you can re sell.

That seems like a ways to go but if you can refurbish/resell you should have some idea of the value, no? Add it all up and then it's your decision.

Sounds like you know what your doing. Another thing to consider: will this be a potential repeat client? If so, don't go in the red but providing great service can sometimes be its own (future) reward.

Just learned that the hard way Paid 350 for 1000 pounds of battery's and 2 skids of printers barely made 100 bucks and i had to split it with my worker. However i gained a client that will call me whenever they have ewaste and i told them i would be paying less next time

I usualy pay $5 per U for serves at scrap value which these are. You will have massive trouble reselling these for anything.

I would not pay more than 100, but I would try for 50.

If you haven't given them the money yet, explain your situation and see what happens. It's better to walk away from a bad deal than get stuck with product you can't sell.

posted several times. Its in the archives but here is a rule of thumb. any server over a year old is hard to sell retail or whole sale. Any It engineer worth his salt will generally not buy from an unknown source if they can get it any where else.

Main refurbushers or turn over companys are currently paying .24/26 per lb + shipping. the 360/380 is about 64 kilos so you are talking around $15 ea. U.S. scrapped a little more if they are whole. Have all parts.

    I have recently sold 5 m $ Orical/Sun M9000 super computers working , never connected for .24 or.528 per kilo.

I haven't seen much over .20 for PCs, nevermind servers. But if you know someone paying that price, please share...
