Circuit Boards

What can I do with all the circuit boards I pull from electronics? My scrap yards dont buy them but I hate to just throw them out if I can posibly get money for them. Like tv's, vcrs, phones, etc. The ones WITHOUT any gold on them (or at least none that I see, I am new to this).

Well, if you have the space, hold on to them. Someone will be coming along buying them soon. Those type of scrap dealers are popping up now. I think 10 cents a pound is the average national rate.

Some yards are adding it in to items they take. The yard I take to just started accepting them about 5 months ago. They have different prices based on the black chips on them. Why? Not sure...but if it has more than 3, I get 25 cents a pound, less than that I get 11 cents a pound. If I can build up enough with 5 or more, they are paying 52 cents.

My yard is paying 10 cents a pound...BUT that is mixed scrap price, not circuit board price .. They currently don't have a designated section for circuit boards. After I pull what I want, the rest goes with mixed scrap.

I would save them up. I think I have a good buyer on them now. An if I do...The prices on them may be FAR better than what you are getting right now. I will have more info on this in the next few days so hang on.

you noobs or infrequent posters . I suggest you listen to easy. my local yard wants to pay 2.40 lb for Hi grade boards with the fingers on lol.

i agree 100% w/ olddude easy is a great guy to deal with and for escrap noobs like myself he is straight up honest and gives you ALL the facts about what your scrap is worth.

You guy's are lucky, my yard pays a whole .05 lb for low grade boards. Still saving but not for them,,, .05 - REALLY!!

I would have to disagree. True he is helpful and informative. However, he will only tell you what he will pay. That is not the same as what they are worth. They are obviously worth more than what he is paying or why would he buy them? That’s business. I would research until my eye bugged out before I sold something containing gold that I didn’t understand the value of. Having your buyer be your single source for info on what you are selling is not using your best judgment. It is up to you to understand what you are selling. Research outside the forum as well. Seems to me the e-scrap info on this site is becoming quite biased to a single company’s agenda. There are better prices out there.

all of the above posts are true, however that said, he is in business just as we are and intitled to a "reasionable" profit. if some one else has prices they want to post, bring it on, if it is a better deal, hey thats business, the only compitition I have seen is $4 for hard disk Hi grade boards. Do you tell your customers the exact price you are getting for the scrap you are going to buy or get free from them. compatition sometiems gets tough, but again thats business. as long as it is ethical and honest go for it.

Hey business is business. Some people are content with finding an outlet for their stuff at a decent price... i.e. Easyrecycle. He is a smart businessman in many senses. The good thing is he is willing to help people figure out what they have and give them a reasonable price for it, not knowing whether or not that he will get their business. So for people that have done the research and can't find a good place to sell their e-waste at a reasonable price he is a great place to sell. I would rather see someone sell to him then not sell at all and just throw it into the garbage, filling up our landfills.
As for the people who have done the "jumping through hoops" research, which is not that bad by the way, you can find better prices for your electronics waste, but its up to you to put in the necessary time and effort.

We are not going to spoon feed you every single drop of info that we have worked hard to figure out for our self.

If I was to start buying e-waste tomorrow at a national level, like Easy does, I could not offer any better prices on somethings, and maybe a little higher on others. It all depends on where you live and what buyers in your region are paying good. As far as selling, sure I'd be making a killing, maybe, but some things I would even sell to Easy to maximize my profit margins.

I am very happy to see people standing be hind me but what he said is true.

I will not state how much I make on them...No scrap yard will its not smart. But What I can say is that I DO pay better than 90% of all the other yards an that because most of my business is nothing but e-waste. I send out a good amount of weight each month to my refiner an make a small profit. I work on the idea of mass weight...not low pricing.

I buy 1,000 pounds at $1.00 price an make only $0.20 per pound = $200
other yard may buy 300 pounds but only paid $0.70 an they will make $1.20 a pound = $150

I find I can make more money paying a higher amount as more people will send me there scrap for the better price than what the yards will pay...That is how I make my money...The down side to that....you need really deep pockets...and market crashes..you have to KNOW the market...if you have 1,000 pounds an your profit is only going to be 20cents a pound an market drops 30cents...you lose money....this happens to me often...means you have to have even deeper pockets as you maybe out of X amount of money for a time as you are waiting for the market to come back up...I have some items still waiting for that to happen..It can be very risky.



So back to the point...yes I only tell you what I will pay for the scrap...but know that I am paying better than what anyone else is...that is because I base things on weight..that is why if you have a lot of weight...I will pay more...more weight = better profit for me.

I think that they should be blocked from asking questions until they've read a certain number of threads first! I'm getting a bad rep for "spanking" noobs but I get irritated at them and I shouldn't I guess 'cause they get excited and just want all the answers fast.

No people should use there head an read up first. I can understanding if they are asking something on a old topic so they can get up-to-date info but they are asking a lot of things that has been repeated over an over again...Why should we all repeat our selfs?

well it usually ends up self culling any way those who want the easy money and easy answers usually dont last long. most who have been in this business for very long know, there is no easy answers and certainly no easy money !

Exactly right, olddude. I've spent years scrapping on and off and went full time about a year ago then spent months on the board reading before signing up. The answers are pretty easy to find by searching, wish the money was as easy!
