That seems somewhat backwards to me. The board with the pins is usually bare except for the pins. Sometimes there's a IC on it. The board with the motor though is much more densly populated with up to 3 IC's, and several of the monolithic capacitors (I think). Of course the motor would need to be removed, and sometimes they're stuck to a steel plate.
Either way, I'll shoot Mario an email. He sets the prices, and most of the time they make sense.
I am a little sad for the floppys in the past where i removed the board, cut the connector and threw the rest in low grade.
Another thought - if the board with the pins is worth motherboard (2.70 now), then why would anyone remove the gold connector at 1.20 a pound. I think I've seen prices at $4 a pound for the gold connectors off of a floppy drive - that may even out. But at anything close to or under motherboard price, I think you'd be best leaving it together.
