    Getting So Confused With Boards

Hello and hope I can find some answers. A friend had me help her go thru boards from computers, monitors, and tvs. Pull this and this is copper, this is brass and then playing around found one that had a coating pulled it off and was silver she thinks it may be aluminum. Then tonight reading posts on IC Chips and Gold plated ends now I have a spinning head with a major headache. Now wanting to go put green boards in one bin brown boards in another. Any help guys?

Also Linksys old style routers kept the board. Thanks guys.

Good morning! Mechanic688 for example in the pic of your Low Grade TV Boards. The black and blue cylinder looking things they were having me pull those off because there was copper inside. My question was is there anything else we should be pulling off the boards? Now in curiosity for boards do you just keep 3 different bins?

Theres nothing to pluck on the low grade boards.... and if you do you would be devaluing them to your buyer...

there isn't copper in those cylindars you're pulling. sometimes there will be a black plastic case that has copper windings in them you can pull though.

    Why tip toe around?

Tell us what you really think.

Mhlyons...As for green vs brown boards. If they are from IT Equipment (not TV's etc.. then the only difference is that the solder mask on the PCB (printed circuit Board) is a differnt colour.

Now in the pic above of the low grade boards, these look brown (colour of the fibre that the board is made from) as they are only solder masked on one side.

Hope this helps, and doesn't add to the confusion....
