Thought bullets were illegal in California?
I was going to ask the same question for Jersey lol. I still haven't called my yard yet.
call your yard. Ask if they take em. If not ask if they know who does.
I have a friend who buys them for reloading. Look on craigslist or ask a gun shop. There might be someone who will buy them for reloading. If you have a lot, ask if you can put a flyer up at the gun shop.
Once fired brass sells like hotcakes, gun hobbyists often buy these to reload their own ammo. Ammunition is NOT CHEAP, especially if you shoot often, and lots of people do, there's a big market for this. The scrap yard will give you the lowest possible value for any item, if you have something that has value to a consistent and large market, the scrap yard should always be your last call (unless you're more satisfied with the quick sale, of coarse).

Sort it out, and sell it in lots to re-loaders. Separate it by caliber, and sell it in lots of 50 or 100 casings. It will definitely fetch more than scrap value this way. You can use local classifieds, Craigslist, or just google "sell used brass".
reloaders like me are always looking for more brass, and it isnt cheap. If you dont know anyone locally try using one of the gun auction sites like AuctionArms.com or GunBroker.com. you will be able to get a better price for them there.
IRC,what calibers and quantity of brass do you have?
ive seen huge lots auctioned off by army bases
I have 200 pounds of brass casings. 100 pounds is .22 so thats scrap. But the other 100 pounds i have sorted by caliber and alot of it in in the plastic trays. I have alot of 9mm, 45acp and 44 mag. I also have a .44 mag reloader made by lee that needs to go. Gonna give armslist a try.
I buy and sell all types of scrap and escrap. I buy specialty and hard to sell escrap. I buy resale items. PM me or contact me at jghilino@hotmail.com
I AM ACTIVELY BUYING ESCRAP OF ALL TYPES. BOARDS, RAM, CPUS AND MUCH MORE
they arn't illegal YET but, fema the social security adm and "home land security" are buying them all so you can't get any. over 2 billion rounds including 1 billion .40 hollow points in the last year. wounder what kind of invasion they are gong to stop with .40 cal hand gun ammo ?
another interesting note when you, an American citizen, own a mp4 or ar15 or a bushmaster it is called by the government an ASSULT weapon but when they order the same weapon for them selves they call it a personal protection device.
"anyone who thinks scrappin is easy money ain't doin it right!"
put up ad on armslist, got response withing 5 minutes of posting, looks like a good site
Could you let us know what price range you find for the cartridge brass to reload?
I need a minimum of $4 pound and that is what i am getting for it. It has been sorted by caliber and ultrasonic cleaned which is what i do with all of the brass i get other than .22, it goes straight in the scrap bin. Tall brass shotgun shells are worth holding on to also for a buyer.
Save your lead and sell it there too, reloaders will take it a step further and cast their own boolits
