    Day One of Marketing Campaign

So I have been collecting things up and saving them in the basement of a huge property I am buying. I have a dozen garbage cans and as many buckets starting to fill up. I figured I would start the marketing and see what happens.

I posted to a few online classified ad sites. Real simple ad.

FREE Metal Removal and Affordable Hauling

I have recieved 2 phone calls so far.

#1 Salesman Calling. I ran an ad on the online yellow pages for electronics recycling and scrap metal removal. $65 per month, what the heck one good call and it pays for itself.

#2 Retired Electronics Repair Guy. He tells me he has a lot of hauling for me to do! VCR, Computers, 2 laptops, all types of stuff. He is retired so I may pay shred if it is a big enough load. We will see, I am still learning so I will use this as an opportunity to figure out what I am doin.

AND I am on a 4 days run of finding used gas grills!!!

And if anyone wants the info to run a similar ad in your area I can forward the info. I only ran mine because I am the only one in my service area, and was assured I will always be listed first. PM me.

I went out today to see the guy who called last night. Figured no matter what it will be a learning experience. Well my experience is just get out and keep moving every lead is an opportunity. I show up and he takes me down stairs and shows me his stash.

    3 towers
1 old CompaQ Portable, can't call it a laptop cause it is HUGE.
5 gal. bucket full of a/c adapters
    2 Monitors CRT
    1 Flat Screen
    2 Printers
    2 Scanners
a box with a mother board no CPU but RAM, 3 power supplies, 3.5 in drives, and misc. other goodies.
1 bagof cell phones, chargers and accessories
3 beat up bruised and ugly laptops that are old.

I kind of run down what stuff is worth to me trying to come up with a price. He tells me just take it I want it gone.

THEN we walk out and I am leaving and he says "you take alum running boards?" I tell him any metal I will take.

    2 Aluminum running boards
4 Transformers heavy as hell 12,000 / 30 wrote on them and full of greasy oily goo??? Hum learing curve about to improve.
20 pieces of metal stud framing
Various fence posts, a steel pipe 10", and various other brackets etc.
    4' of 1" heavy copper
100 bs. of BX wire with outlets and stainless covers.

He wants no money just wants it gone. 45 miles round trip.

@Bear as far as batteries go I will offer 50% of what I can get for them, more if multiple batteries, and more if delivered to me. My opinion is 50% or even 30% of something is better than 100% of nothing. And with pickups I get people from way out that just garbage pick of foot that are glad to get a few bucks. I treat the fair and they are happy.
