Had to take the day off but the fence is done. It is temp fence for now but it's 6 feet tall and bright orange just for neighbours.
It's ugly but within code. When I have time on the weekend we'll build a gate with wheels.
I hate this neighbourhood but rent is within our budget. It's not a bad part of town but people in it are loco.
Thanks for all your guys sight and for letting me vent.....
It's still going to be a good week anyways.

Glad to hear You were able to get a 6 foot fence up , don't forget to mount some Pink Flamingo's on 8 Foot poles and also some around the hot tub to remind Your neighbors of there Florida Trips . ( when they peek through the fence )

No not at all, in fact it's quite the opposite. He just laughs about it but if the city sends him a bill it would be different story.

We had a couple of people up the road from us that were scrapping with each other, the lady of one place threatened to shoot the other idiot if he stepped foot on her property again. So he painted on the back of his garage so only she could see it "So how you like me now,HA,HA,HA". It p***ed her off every time she seen it but nothing she could do.

The plywood was free. And I guess its outdoor, not sure. But we're going to paint it white and then write our message.
Just need to find the right thing to say. Open to more suggestions.

Dude, don't make a bad situation worse, just put the fence up and be done. Make it look nice and pretty soon they'll forget about you.

While it would be more gratifying to write something to get to your neighbours I would use the space for a great business advert. If the fence is on a corner then it will have good exposure and it will work for you 24 hours a day. Why don't you write something like:

We recycle used electronic and metal goods, saving them from landfill. We buy some items, others we pick up for free.

We want your scrap and junk computers, etc, etc, etc

    Call us on 123456789

The fact is nothing will make your neighbours more crazy than if you do well for yourself through your own hard work while they stay in the same place.

I know lying is wrong, but if the elephant man came in now in a blouse with some make up on, and said, "How do I look?" Would you say, bearing in mind he's depressed and has respiratory problems, would you say, "Go and take that blusher off you mis-shapened elephant tranny?" No. You'd say, "You look nice... John""

I know but it did sound good though. We do have peace of mind with the fence and is better for our daughter. All our friends have commented on how much better it looks.
So I might have to buy the women a beer after all, atleast we'll invite them for a hot tub.

I think that is the problem. We're self employed and doing well. The one neighbour had the gull to say " Why do you need a hot tub anyways. Screw them, whats it their business.
Either way we're going to take the safe approach and use the wall for advertising one of our companies or something like that. Let them toss the last stone and see where it goes from here. We're Rednecks not Hillbillies so we all don't need to be a feuding. We're not zoned for a scrap yard so have to be careful what we advertise.

Yes I have a similar problem. Until I get back to Florida I am temporarily staying with a friend of mine. Turns out the duplex next door has a couple of young ladies living there who like to where very little clothing in this hot weather we have been having. It is TRULY awful! ;-)

I agree with painting your scrap business on the new fence. Congrats on that too. As far as anything else to stir the pot, only the lawyers will come out ahead. Always the case.

I have found that the best way to deal with the picture taking nosy people is to simply follow them home and begin taking many many detailed photos of their house from every angle you can.

    Drives them absolutely nuts.

Got the complete zoning for our address. Com/Res District H.

I can't run a scrap yard but can have open air market and that my friends means I can sell anything. It also means I can have anything WE deem sellable.
IT MIGHT LOOK LIKE SCRAP BUT THAT ITEM WILL COST YOU $250.00 MR. BYLAW OFFICER.
Another new adventure in my life, we kind of already have a store anyways. Just means I can legally store stuff outside for the upcoming sale that never happens. So they really did do us a favor. And wait to see there faces when I have a perpetual yard sale every weekend.

We can have a bar, tavern, school, daycare, massage parlour, auto service station, halfway house, second hand store, you name it, we can do it here.
That is the reason we moved to this location in the first place.
