As far as CRT type TV's are concerned, the major draw back is what you will do with the left over CRT Tube ( Glass that makes up the TV screen ). If you bust the tube open you have just created Hazardous Waste. I gladly tear down TV's but only because there are little to ZERO jobs in my area and I must eat.

yeah I know with TV's (which right now I'm not messing with) there is a 10k fine ... the monitors I take to Goodwill with the dell for contact deal and all they say if the glass is busted take a box, line it with plastic and put the monitor down in it and tape it up real good.
as for illegal in W.V. I haven't found anything on about that, except not to put in monitors and TV's in the landfill, but tryin to read some of the terms they write down for laws and legislation is a trip anyways lol
