Break them down into unrecognizeable parts.

I have 2 yards I frequent. Both know me very well, mostly by name. But one yard will take any reefer or compressor without question, and the other one won't, but will take the alu fin and copper pipes (from reefer) when separated even though it's obvious what it came from.

The local yard to me just requires a letter head from the business where you got it or a signed consent from an individual. the yard makes a copy of it and stores it in your customer file.

There are several threads on the forum that will describe how to get certified to handle the materials and recover them. It will open a new recycle material for you. I am certified but don't use it because of physical limitations. I got the certification through the local community college. I understand that the training can be done online. I assure you that the test is not difficult if you study. There is more than the test, you have to learn how to use the equipement as well. Best of luck, Mike.

This is what it is but but you should not state the obvious . Saying " Break them down into unrecognizable parts" Is admitting you are being a fence individual and potentially teaching some body else to be a Fence. Do you think the government yells out all the things they do ?

Same thing here. At least in the county. I have to take them to the next county. Might do the breaking down thing.

I think they are requiring you to be more than just certified to properly handle the freon by the EPA. I think it also has to deal with being able to show that you have a license such as a masters to be able to work on the unit's. Any body can get certified by the EPA to handle freon, but that still does not make it legal in a lot of areas for you to work on A/C system's unless you are working for a company/individual with a master license.
