I got them all magnets at the scrap yard. Then we stopped for ice cream. The take apart all the copper do dads from my boards too. They spend the money walking to the hot dog shop and ice cream place. It is good for them to learn to work smart, and know some financial independence.


If they could load a fridge, LMAO.

Jr. Helped my buddy load a lawn tractor. I wasn't here but had a load sittin and told a buddy I'd split it with him. The condition was he took MJ with him and gave him my half. My wife was watching and said Paul and MJ got it to the truck and rested it on the tailgate and Paul pulled and MJ shoved. Little MJ is a beast a true irishman. We are on a job and breaking out concrete, wife shows up with lunch and he starts picking up concrete taking it to the truck. Zero concept of I can't sees a job and just gets busy. Anyway they took the stuff to the yard and went on another run. MJ came home with $100, and a lesson in work ethic.

Ya I like his style, he has more experience so he shows the older kids what to do. AND he plays the expert with his magnet. He will home in on a screw, or bolt, touch and shake his head. Just like us he wants to live in a world where everything is bright, shiney, #1.

my 9 year old boy just loves to tear things down for me. give him a power screw driver and he's in heaven. well that or a big cardboard box. I honestly think its all for fun and he has no clue its real work..... i appreciate all he does and i cherish those times we spend together working or playing either way.

Life is so unfair!!! This guy has 3 addorable children helping him, and everyone thinks it's admirable, character building and just darn cute. I had 100 children breaking down my scrap, 16 hours a day in an old warehouse....and I get ARRESTED! And I'm pretty sure 2 of mine got to share n ice cream once! LOL (joking...i am only joking people)

I came here thinking of the best crew i ever worked with, and although I've worked with a lot of crews, including oil fields(land rigs and offshore), lots of heavy construction, and a gold mine(8000 feet deep), I don't guess I could come close to matching your crew

My father owned a machine shop right next to our home. We never were forced to work but we didn't get allowance either so I was machining parts for singer sewing machines when I was 8 years old and rocker arms for Cummins 24 valve diesel engines by the time I was 15. I may have done the machining on the rockers in the truck I own now. Those experienced were priceless, when my friends were getting their first jobs flipping burgers for 6 bucks an hour I was already running my own heavy equipment repair business and making 30-50. Thanks dad.
