    A busy weekend

So I get a call on Friday evening from a guy that I do the odd trade with.

He has 16 old desktops for me plus a few extras

Plus 38 old Hard Drives ( 40 GB was the biggest size ....down to 3 and 4 GB Hard Drives ) Maxtor, Seagate etc

Plus two old printers and a couple of old Gateway Monitors ( huge things ) a nice bit of copper in them.

I sorted out all of the immediate concerns on Friday evening by taking out the CPU's, Ram Fingers, plus any extra cards that were in there.

A lot of old graphics cards ......sound cards etc

Items of note ( as far as I am concerned were )

I was very pleased to find an IDT Win Chip C6=PSMW200GA Ceramic chip
There was also an AMD K6-2 grey Ceramic with a metal cap.
Two AMD Duron Chips ( grey ceramic )
Two Intel Pentium ( IPP ) Ceramic chips ( no caps just ceramic )
A large green fibre Intel Pentium 4 with a metal cap ( I think they are copper )
There were various other CPU's Large brown fibre AMD Athlon, Green Semperons with metal caps
Some Intel Celerons with Metal Caps too.

I got the Motherboards and power supplies etc out on Saturday afternoon......

Lots of 150 watt to 250 watt Power boxes

Some very nice small hard drives in the pile....very old looking, the logic boards on them are crammed with goodies.

I spent the rest of the weekend dismantling what turned out to be 56 Hard Drives in the end.

I have started to pull the gold pins out from inside the hard drive and save them up.

I like breaking down the power boxes when the scrap dries up......so that is stashed away

I packed away the motherboards with all the others and have also boxed up the cards that I got over the weekend.

This lot should keep me busy for a few days.

Still saving up the computer scrap for a point in time when I know what to do with it all........

Just to point out as I did in my introduction I am in The Republic of Ireland ( details link below for those interested in politics / history / geography )

Republic of Ireland - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I am cut off from the market that you guys in America / Canada enjoy in terms of places to sell your computer scrap.

Any UK Members who know the scene please fill me in on buyers in England ........

The other thing I really enjoy about all this time spent out in the shed is listening to Frank Zappa ( R.I.P. )
