    Huge Whale

Well the first two locomotives arrived today!!! Only about 126 more to go. Its only a years worth of work not including the rest of the incoming torch material. I am tired already and I haven't even started. I will post some pics of us cutting them up and getting them off the tracks. 375,000 lbs a piece.

"It's only a years worth of work". Love how you're so nonchalant about it, when most people on here would die for that.

That is a pretty good deal, would love to see some pictures.

Bear, the yard has a rail spur that is now dedicated to nothing but locomotives they are coming in two at a time every Monday till June or May of 2013. They are moved in by the railroad then put on there dedicated track to be downsized into pieces that the crane can move.

Hoss, I have been doing large projects my whole life so a year honestly isn't that long to me. They also have other projects in the works so I will have more work then I can handle for the near term and long term.

My co hort has a video cam. We are gonna do it but with video. We just want to wait for the cat 345 to show up so we can get it done in a day instead of a day and a half.

Yeah I am hiring help as we speak.

We did a science project earlier this year and broke down one of these locos by the lb. Motor genset traction motor 3x2 plate 2 foot plate Hms rail wheels copper brass. We broke it down to a science. They are paying market price for the material meaning the yard. I am sure they are making a killing to we have been in the process of putting the deal together for three months almost. Who else in America can cut up 3 to 4 locomotives in a week. Not bragging just being a realist.

Running a torch all day long burning metal is about the worst job you could have. I wouldn't take a your job if you paid me $150.00/hour.

Come on over. I have a rail road track 50 yards out my front door. It's a lovely sound, a train blowing it's horn for an absurdly too long of a time, at 3am.

Oh..Pictures of the train being scrapped...That's another story...I'd like to see that as well.
