Found my first gold cpu chip with pics

I have watched how people have been finding the gold cpu chips. For the last year or so that I have been E-scrapping I have looked for them in the older computers. Well today I finally found one. I understand how you all feel now about finding one. I got it from a call that need some e-scrap picked up. Can anyone tell me what cpu it is? It came from a 499 socket.

It's such a great feeling, I know. Like you just found a gold nugget. It reenergizes you to find more. I love that feeling! Congrats on your find! Imagine what it would feel like to actually go gold mining and find an actual nugget.

That is an ALPHA chip. Frame it or wrap it up but don't let the pin's get damaged and don't let it get chipped. VERY GOOD FIND.
We buy electronic scrap, Gold Karat scrap, gold filled, refined gold, silver and many other item's.

WOW Bear! That is might might impressive. That's a pic you should show newbies wanting to get into E scrap or to anyone interested in it. I've seen photos that have gotten my attention and made me drool, this one matches all of them. What's in that plastic bag? Looks like blocks of gold. Thanks for sharing.

Great find! Alpha chips go on eBay for $25 a pop pretty easily. Several lots of 2 sold for $50+

    Nice!

It is a chip that collectors like if your price is right. It's actual use I have forgotten, but I will see if I can find out if I can find the time.

Bump. Hi Spoiler73, I believe this beautiful old CPU was made by Digital Equipment, a company that I worked for over a 13 year period. Wish I knew then, what I know now eh. Congrats on such a wonderful First Score bud. lb
