Now this is a PC Chip find!

So had gone on a trip to buy some boards and such from a CL add that they guy wouldn't post pictures of. Yes suspcious, but I have had some good finds that way and I noticed there were like 20 garages sales right in that neighborhood so I figured why not.

Guy was an old PC repair guy. Paid 40 for the load which basically was too much, but I had wasted the gas so at least its a break even trip and I figured a few garage sales I migh get lucky. Then as I walk out the guy says , oh I threw all the old stuff out as I figured you wouldnt want it. Oh where is it I asked? Oh the garbage took it on Friday it was just some old 486's a few pentium pro's and their boards. I left fast to avoid the desire to strangle him from winning out.

Managed to pick up a few PC's at the garage sales so came out ahead and then I hit the last garage sale!!!! Found a old box of old wafers that are used for making computer chips and yes they were gold plated! Lady said take them I want that box gone. I'm like ok...but I did buy 4 VHS tapes to make my conscience clean.

So which ewaste place would you folks go to, to evaluate the odd and undusual finds? Probably about 10 wafers....

I think most any of them will give you an evaluation?

Gold on wafers is very fine, I would expect it to be like gold plated jewelry which isn't worth much other then the base metal it is plated on. I could be wrong, but most gold found on chips is in the interconnect wiring between the chip and the pin leads.
