By the sounds of the title of this post it gives the impression that this could be a valuable/intelligent thread... nope. I just had my first experience with "good" copper wire. Probably old hat to everyone here but thought I'd share anyways. We're closing up shop at my Dad's business (my Dad & 2 machines have been "acquired" by another local company) and I was helping out by lifting him up in one of those people cages or whatever with the forklift the other day so he could do something with the electrical boxes for our machines. He tells me to get out, throws me what I thought was a rope at first and tells me to pull as hard as I can so we can get it out of the lines above. I help him wrestle around with approximately 100 ft of this copper wire that he didn't end up taking to the new shop so it just sat there. Tonight as i was packing up to head home i sent him a text message asking him if he needed the wire. Realizing that the message sounded stupid i quickly sent a follow up telling him that I wanted to scrap it. He could have the cash but i wanted to know how much that beast would pull in. He didn't reply so i figured that he was going to act like he was asleep so he didn't have to say "no" to me. Amazingly, close to an hour later i got a message saying "ive been wondering too. go ahead" I ran out to the truck, drove it around back and rolled the shop doors up like it was Christmas. The bundle consists on 3 thick wires and 1 thin one so I started untangling them. After wrestling the thin one I decided that I should probably cut the thicker ones into more manageable lengths. It took me over an hour of hardcore wire wrestling to get them separated, cut, looped, and in the truck. Mid-process, I'm sure that I looked like a nut ball. I was wearing my work clothes - jean skirt & black tanktop - my hair was all crazy and I was yelling at the wire and flinging it around like a I was trying to learn to lasso or something. Good times!
