Ups and downs of scrapping (truck trouble)

Me and my two boys went out tonight for a couple quick pickups, local thank goodness. As we are heading home I start to notice my steering wheel pulling to the right. Im thought, maybe a low tire or even a flat, but that oh so familiar smell of brakes made it clear that my righ front caliper was sezing up. Luckily we were a mile from home so we babied her home and backed her in the driveway. Holy smoke, literally lol. Looks like Ill be replacing both front calipers to avoid this happening again. I just thank the Big Scrapper in the sky we were close to home, no one got hurt.

Lol! Man I hope so. I grabbed a couple metal shop cabinets that Im going to throw on Craigslist to see if I can grab over scrap value. The rest of the load is only about 500 lbs. There was a Dewalt circular saw in the pile, Ill have to plug it in tomorrow to see if it works.

More than likely, I'd say 9 out of 10 I've seen this, it's due to a rubber hose between the caliper and the steel line is collapsed. I'd replace both of them rubber brake lines also.

Replace the wheel bearings too. Just a few days ago I started noticing a low rumble while driving. I'll be going through the whole system in the near future to say the least. You sure don't want a wheel bearing seizing up on you going down the highway. Similar to a seized caliper but without the smoke!

Glad you made it home and here's to quick repairs. I was prepping a load earlier this week and my kid comes out to report that the dryer crapped out. I get quite a few dryers, some that work still, but I ain't putting other peoples fur balls in my house. Added our dryer to the load and stopped and got a new one on the way home.
