    The real deal

What is the real deal - Gold - Silver - Copper - as a legitimate recognized non toxic form . Bullion is real .
Currently all forms of ownership of Gold - Silver - Copper - as what scrappers find and have / hoard - may not have long lived value if and when laws change , I feel the values can drop dramatically , based on true recycle practice methods. The current methods are creating a artificial market . When the methods are stamped out , the true value will bloom as a disappointing flower for us all.

Makes sense to me..if the dollar has no value n something drastic happens such as the 2012 prediction..then yeh only gold bars would have value, not computer chips n boards...i think thats what copperhead may mean

Ok how about this , Boards Mem Cpu's & other items , we know there is gold -silver - copper in it - Heck a gold Pentium Pro chip is worth $30 to $40 on EBAY Thats great we all think . So we confidently save all these items. as if they were Bullion .
NEXT - this is only speculation and not happening YET - but what happens if public out cry - nation to nation out cry - create laws stating no more un regulated E waste recycling that even China and others go along with. and or make it illegal to sell metals from these sources unless documents stating that these E waste precious metals have been recycled in accordance with safe methods .
Now who's holding the hot potato.( you and me ) Boards Mem Cpu's & other items value drops, due to the true cost of recycling GREEN . The artificial market is based on lax laws , cause in reality for now any thing goes.
Gold - Silver - Copper in the form considered legitimate - will always have value - but what will your box of gold finger MEM chips you have been saving end up being worth ? - if the cost of getting the gold out triples or even Quadruples .
Now the big question are strict world wide E waste laws ever going to happen ?

Copper head, this is already happening. My local yard used to pay 1.20/lb on Li-Ion batteries. Then it dropped to .50/lb. The owner said that they can only sell them to an R2 facility now, and they are not paying much due to the higher cost to properly recycle them.

As long as there are people trying to home refine this stuff - there will always be a market. It may move underground and become a black market if what you say is true - but a market will always exist.

The original post didn't make much sense in English either.
I know lying is wrong, but if the elephant man came in now in a blouse with some make up on, and said, "How do I look?" Would you say, bearing in mind he's depressed and has respiratory problems, would you say, "Go and take that blusher off you mis-shapened elephant tranny?" No. You'd say, "You look nice... John""

This thread is what makes this forum all that more valuable as a tool to keep eveyone informed of laws and reulations. Thank you Copperhead for a thought provoking thread. On a side note, it would be a shame to have your gold in bullion and have it confiscated by our government at the end!

Hey Copper Head, I think in some ways it is being regulated but through different means, and that is why we are seeing prices high for the scrap we sell.

As it stands, to buy or sell gold coins, you have to fill out forms and be tracked, like you do when you spend over $10K in cash. There has to be a paper trail. That was not the case years ago when gold was "cheap" and you could buy Canadian gold pieces and similar without paper work. Now with the laws in place to make sure uncle sam knows who owns gold, people are looking to E-scrap as a work around and that is why we see the pricing we do.

You are correct in that one day it will get real tight and regulated, but I think that will come from Uncle Sam and not the public. Don't forget 1933.

Thank you for breaking that down for me. I tried three times to read the original and got no where. Also thanks for breaking it down because it would have been a shame if you didnt get that point across. Good stuff Copperhead. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

So sadly - saving each and every - CPU - Board - MEM - for the future along with many other types of items that could become regulated & unsellable or reduced in selling price by 50 % to 75 % - - might be best to sell now !! as later might never come for all non environmental friendly scrap. I see no reason to tell of the types of non environmental friendly scrap. BUT the clock is ticking

And this is why you also should not let them make more gun control laws like they want too. If they come to take it away from my place they will take me away as well.

very heads up CH: it will happen, no dout, it is just a matter of when.. food is the next item on the agenda, in my opinion, but dont want to get political so thats all I will say about that.

here is another thought for those hoarding gold and silver. those buying kugerands and other ounce coins or higher denominations need to think about this

lets say you need a loaf of bread or some coffee, and the dollar has gone worthless. how are you going to take that $3000+ one oz of gold and buy that loaf of bread, and expect to get change.

what little bullion I am able to buy I buy "junk" pre 65 dimes and quarters, they are 90% silver and more important they are recognised by most every one. and less of a problem then trying to get change for a rand. just my .02

I agree with olddude on this one. Most of my bullion is actually junk silver - dimes, quarters, halves, even a few war nickels. Just remember that brass and lead protects silver and gold every time.
