    Truck totaled taday

Well a ****ty day, lady ran a red light hit my 95 Nissan, looks like it will be a total loss will find out more on Monday... Then I get home and find out i was lucky enough to get Federal Grand Jury notice for next month. Looks like you are to call in each day for a week to see if you have to go downtown and serve. $40.00 a day though...

He might be able to collect for lost wages the whole time the truck is down.

When your collecting from the insurance company you can collect if you use the truck to make money. X amount a day for everyday you are without a truck. The X would be what you make average a day. Might have to threaten to sue the ins. company but they should settle quickly.

    Check with someone on that.

Here in VA, if you work for yourself (whether as a company or just as yourself) you are considered self employed.

I ditto what George says. If you have no truck, you cannot scrap, meaning you aren't earning a living. I see people run red lights almost every day and it irritates me to no end.

Glad you're okay, look into the self employment thing though. Good thing it was only the truck!

George Carlin once said that it's pretty easy to get dismissed from jury duty. Most people try to lie their way out but all you have to do is tell them the truth. Tell the judge that you would make a good juror because you can spot guilty people just by the way that they look.

Truck can be fixed or a new one obtained. Important thing is YOUR ok.

Gotta watch out for them crazy Tucson drivers. I spent enough time there, I know how crazy those twits can drive. Sounds like they were insured which is a good thing. Not always the case and could be a whole lot worse if they weren't.

    Anyhow, glad your ok!

Sirscrapalot - Misses Tucson and AZ in general but not the silly ass driving antics of half the people there.

I hate to see that you have lost your truck, although this could be a blessing in disguise. With the right wording and a little bit of luck, you might turn this total loss into a newer truck and perhaps even a trailer to go along with it. I wish you the best! I am glad to see that you weren't hurt. As others have said, a truck can be replaced, you, yourself can not be replaced.

Good Luck and Happy Scrapping !!!

I have a bit of bad luck with my truck also. I pulled across a 4 lane highway and was T-boned on the bed of my truck by a Swan's Ice Cream truck. I had to but a new bed, wheel, tire and get a couple other things straightened out. It was totally my fault though. This was my first accident in way over 1,000,000 miles of driving. I have been a truck driver since I was 18 and this was my first accident. I guess that is what I pay insurance for. It was a bummer, but not a game changer as I am fortunate enough to have several trucks and vans. This is my baby though... 2001 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 7.3 lt Power Stroke. I have her back from the Ford dealership now as good as new...
There may a million better places to live than Iowa, but none of them are home!

Here is another reason why it is smart to claim your scrapping on your taxes because when something like this happens you can show loss of income..sorry to hear about your truck.

Or that, from watching a days sentencing, you would have never given up a life of crime.....
