some people get weird when they find out you are planning to recycle their material. I had a guy who gave me a bunch of metal and electronics who wanted to see me try and salvage the things he had held on to for so long. I assured him that i would part out what i could, and reuse what i could, but that there is no need to hold the odds and ends of broken equipment that he was giving me. It was almost as if he knew i was scrapping it, but he wanted me to tell him i wasnt, because it made him feel better.

another standard line is "i can definitly get a lot out of this" which is enough for people not to ask if i mean money or use. It varies from person to person, as most people know i scrap and are more than happy to help me out, like giving me 200ft of AL gutters and a wrought iron handrail yesterday
