Been bouncing around a bit, and had several days I couldn't torch due to the Gail force winds march had but I've been back on the rail car again lately.

Guy at my yard lets me go 5'x18"x18" on this stuff as long as its 1/4" or thicker. This one isn't near rusty as the first one so it's been much easier to torch, so far anyhow.

So busy weekend, again ! Gona have to back to work to rest up. Went to buy a pickup yesterday and bought a 98 grand prix gtp too.
Guy thought trany was out, but was just a broke cv shaft, so got a super steal on it.

After I went back today and got the gtp I made one call and sold it to a buddy for well over what I paid for it. He confirmed the fault was indeed a half axle while we unloaded it.

Not the axle itself but the cv joint on the end of the half axle, they on occasion fail due to wear and/or abuse, and this is a supercharged car.

Loaded up 840 of scrap tonight and 120# of sheet al. All "free", hey it was all less than 6 miles round trip so Im gona call it free. Thought I seen a beaver hauling arse down a tree, or the worlds largest pack rat, but nope it was neither, a ground hog aka woodchuck. Lived in Kansas almost all my life and hadn't seen one yet, it amazes me what knowledge can be gleaned from a quick google search. And found this cute Lil guy in quest of knowledge.

Maybe I'm just easily amused but I got a giggle or 2 out of this.

Ok been a while so time for an update.
So sold the 01. For 1100$

And this "vista cruiser" style topper that weighs 400#.

Which fit quite nicely on the old mans '92.

Also bought a 97 Chevy 1500 ext cab, which after 2 hours, I traded for 3 Chevy luminas. No pic there, sorry.

And tonight's haul, can you guess the weight ?

Well, reckon since my compact demo car hasn't built itself over the winter, and the demo is the 24th, suppose that's the next project. Stay tuned for updates.

So been away for a while, in case anyone noticed. Built and ran my first demo derby car. Was an absolute blast ! Went to a compact car, cheap and pretty easy to build. I gona try to get it running for the August demo.

I loved running my demo car. Pretty cheap and easy to build. Would definitely recommend running a compact car demo, it's derby ing on the way cheap. Got a parts car found and gona piece it together for another show in August. Didn't place in the top 3, would like really to do that August. Used much of scrap materials in the build, buying as little as possible at retail price. Scrapping and demo derbies seem to go hand and hand, used my scrap connections and some trading to gain my parts car. A big shout out is due to my buddy Roger for his sponsorship and helping me find a frame machine to bend her back for August. Intend to video August's show and post the video here as well.

Hey y'all !! Contrary to the rumors tater is alive and kicking. Glad to know I was missed.

So orange agent was Doa after may so built another car.
With the prices haven't been doing much scrapping but have been having better luck buying cars. And now some pics.
Picked this monte up Sunday for dirt cheap

    And last week this olds.

My demo car I built for August, ran Friday and Saturday night.

Diddnt fare well in Fridays heat, was in the pit with 2 Astro vans and 2 fwd vans.

And I sloped it back together and finished it off saturday.

And so the demo season comes to an end for this year. Kinda burnt out and since the prices
Aren't good I took some time to play a little bit. Getting my trailers loaded to the gills and gona wait it out.
On the plus side starting to get a fair amount of scrap for free !!! And finally been
Able to get some cars bought right.
