    benefits of construction.

We are building a new airport runway, and ripping out the old one. The runway lights have to be replaced and get new wire. So I am taking all the old ripped out wire. (obviously, I got permission first). This is my first load, of probably 3 or 4 more loads around this size.

After I sorted it out. I have, 139lbs insulated braided copper wire, and 33lbs of braided aluminum wire.

Good score! Are you going to strip it or sell it as insulated?

I will sell the aluminum wire as is. And save the copper for stripping when I get the time.

Digging up old utility's at work is what got me interested in scrap in the first place.

I love double-dipping! I get paid to haul away scrap and then get to sell a lot of it!

Hell ya double dipping! I never pay for anything scrap. I just stay patient, and ask everybody. I don't always get the go-ahead, but It never hurts to ask, and pays off more often than not. Also, work has paid off in more ways than this. Everybody at work knows that I "take **** apart" (as they say.) So they never throw anything away without asking me first. I say "don't throw that vacuum or microwave away! don't you know there is money in there?!!" I have a scrapping problem
