Well this sucks...

Well, I came home from School today, pulled in our little parking spaces next to our house, (We have a 900 foot driveway so its not in the city.) And I didn't see a crap ton of boxes near my scrap pile at first, so me being oblivious I went inside, raged at some people on Teamspeak for being retards, then started Soldering my Electronic Trainer for Electronics Technology, and then my dad came home and said my mom's one friends husband, dropped off a bunch of aluminum in boxes its down at the pile, well I go outside, I see about 50 boxes stacked on top of eachother. Well at first I'm like Woohoo!!! Then I get closer and I'm like "****!!!!" WTH... Its all trophy crap, Its all plastic, and most of it is trophy making stuff like the bases, the shafts, and like manicans on top and what not. I found some pieces among the crap that might be worth selling on ebay, but I didn't really get to look as I got to it 10 mins before I had to leave for work so I only got to look at a couple boxes and threw a tarp over it and put some bricks on the tarp, and left. So I'm gunna prolly have to report all that I find tomorrow, My dad is P/O as well as me. I'm not a freaking Garbage disposal, I'm a freaking Scrapper.


So thats my status for today, tell me what yall think...

I had something like this happen to me. I posted it awhile back. Someone threw a bunch of broken plastic x-mas orniments in the back of my truck parked infront of the house in the street. Also some poeple dont really know about scrap they think we are "Junk Men"

I hear ya brother, I was P/Oed. I found one piece of aluminum thats it, and its just a long piece of aluminum. I have yet to find these Boxes of Aluminum that I was told I was getting, maybe they're under all the crap lol.

If nothing else, get new plaques made that say you're 'Scrapper of the Year" for the next 50 years.

Its not aluminum, Its plastic, I took a couple of the shafts and whacked it on a tree, it snapped. I still have yet to sort through it all, but from what Ive seen I don't really think I have much metal there. But If I talk to the guy at all, I'll thank him.

Trophies are probably best sold in lots by type, many people can re-purpose them; or depending on what they are for think about donating them to a local organization in town.

It doesn't really have to be metal to be re-usable. I was cleaning up a shed that had old cane poles hanging everywhere, and finally decided to haul some of the other than metal off too, a whole load of rotten wood and old cane poles. I built a bonfire with the rotten wood, but listed the stack of cane poles on FreeCycle, and had umteen requests for it all. The guy who came and got it said his wife uses them for art work. I guess you never can tell. I've made several scrap connections as well using FreeCycle

This is life, take them to the dump and move on.

I'd throw the stuff on c/l for $20 under arts and crafts before throwing it out. Sure, it's only $20, or maybe they will show up with a $10, but wouldn't it be better than nothing? Or hell put it up for free, somebody will take it to make projects out of.
