    soda might really be unhealthy

I started to in in-corporate cans and bottles . Any way I found 300 of them all mixed up in dirt and grass as was from a closed down store. Almost all the bottles were full so i drained all of them and plenty of soda got on my hands , some times i was washing the dirty bottles with the soda along with my hands . Was a messy $15 . I noticed the soda dried my hands out bad and also created some kinda embedded dirt thing . I feel soda does harm to the body as my hands really responded as if they were dealing with a chemical. No way soda can be good

Sometimes it makes my kidneys hurt. I love coca cola though and have to remind myself to drink water.

I have a buddy of mine that worked construction. When they poured concrete and some spilled into an area that wasn't supposed to be filled like a pipe or a foundation tube they would let it harden. At end of day they would get a bottle of coke and pour it in and leave it overnight. The acids in the soda would eat thru the concrete and make it brittle enough that when they hit the outside of the pipe with sledges it would fall out. So think about what it is doing to your insides.

i can't recall the last soda I drank, unsweet iced tea is my main drink. Ahhh I remember now, early in the summer I took off with a load of scrap, it was hot as hek, and 3 miles away from home realized I'd left my ice tea! Stopped at a dollar store and got a pop, dang $1.29 I think it was for a 16oz soda. If I'm gonna be out all day I'll usually just put the tea jug from the fridge over in a small cooler with some ice.

I drink soda, more than I should. I like to carry a 1 gallon Coleman water jug with me full of water, and it keeps ice all day. It was like seven bucks at Walmart, well worth it in my opinion. Also, tea is a dieuretic, so it does not hydrate you as much as water or Gatorade.

I quit drinking soda about six months ago after I went to the doctor because I was sleepy during the day a lot. He told me to try not having any caffeine after noon, and I would get a better night sleep, I told him I slept just fine, but he said a lot of people don't realize how often they wake up at night, I thought he was a quack, but did it anyway. Within two weeks I was feeling better than I had in years. I gave up soda almost completely after that, I only drink soda now if it's free.

    Quoted from another site:
Some people drink soda pop as if it is water, some even instead of water. Sure, the primary ingredient is water, but, with all the other “stuff” it contains it can have a…toxic…poisonous…lethal…venomous… seriously harmful effect on your entire body. Drinking soda pop is a sure-fire way to age faster.
Soda is some nasty stuff. A 3 liter a day habit is going to have bad long term health effects. Google it.

I need my Pepsi like a crack head needs their rock!! However I will tell you from experience that about 10yrs ago I was drinking about 6 or 7 44oz fountain Pepsi's at work and then I would I would get home I'd drink at least 2 or 3 2lters or maybe just a 12pk of cans, (sometimes more)whatever I had on hand. I ended up at a psychiatrist as a result of this.

However it's not just the chemicals in soda, the caffeine does your body harm as well. I started eating a couple tins of caffeinated mints a day and would pop caffeine pills like they were candy after I cut my Pepsi intake, then had some physical health effects.

Needless to say I'm a stubborn a** and I won't give up my Pepsi, however I've got it down to about 3 of the 16.9ounce bottles of Cherry Pepsi and I don't take or eat anything that clearly lists caffeine as an ingredient. I feel soooooo much better now days as far as what it was doing to me before.

Just food for thought so to speak!!

My grandma used to be like you Auntie! She would consume at LEAST a 6 pack of 24 oz a day. Her health kept failing and and all her blood tests were bad and the doctor told her that she had at least 1 year before she was so bad that she wouldn't live 6 months after that if she didnt stop. Being the most stubborn PERSON I have ever met, it took her at least six months to cut back on the crap and now she usually has no more than 3 a month. That crap will kill you if you drink it like its the fountain of youth!

Well, when I was a kid and I watched 'Speed Racer,' I used to always watch it in the morning with my cereal. And when I ate the cereal, I would pour soda into the cereal because we never really had milk for some reason, I don't know.

My brother drank a lot of soda until he lost some teeth. The dental work he still needs would cost thousands. When he was unemployed he didn't apply for a job at a computer store because he's missing too many teeth to look like a salesman. He still drinks a gallon of sweetened tea daily, so he's still on track for all of the health problems of high fructose corn syrup.

It's important to note : Your avarage person might one day get lots of soda on there hands for some odd reason and just pass it off. But I have the comparison to real life contractor work. Like gorilla glue . Great stuff foam , Paints of all types . Cement for tile - wall cover -
Formica ECT. caulks from A to Z (get the picture) Now I know the pure syrup is acidic but for the drink ,I had know idea . Funny thing is this was a health food store closed from last years flood They also were health food type soda Coke lemon cherry and such.
Also figure the soda went though last winter and wile they must of froze - still none of the bottles cracked or expanded even beer bottles blow out My hands still hurt I think i am gonna soak them in some beer .

Water,Gatorade,powerade...I cut back on soda two years ago when I went on a diet. Down to one glass of diet coke with dinner. I dropped over 50# in 4 months, good eating and light excercise. Have gone back to a somewhat normal diet but have stayed off the soda and have only put back on 8 lbs. now if I can only quit the smokes.

And that's why if you have some badly corroded battery terminals, pour some Coke on them to clean them. Or Baking Soda water.

I'm not one to give health tips but I will anyhow. As far as giving up something it IS will power. I've given up smoking and pop because I wanted to.

Sometimes I substitute "pop" or "soda" depending on what your geographic area refers to it as. Try mixing carbonated water/ selter water with natural juice of your choice. No chemicals no preservatives no chemicals. It tastes better its not as healthy as Reg water but a glass or two a day is better than a 12 pack of coke a day.

Pop is my one remaining bad habit. (Well, the pop and potato chip combination). When I quit, I drop ten pounds almost immediately. I can't afford new clothes!

Trucks once spewed out much more grime than they do now. When two lane blacktop highways was all there were, the grime after a short rain could make it almost impossible to see, and almost impossible to wash off. An uncle who drove a truck back then kept a coca cola along, because it washed the grime right away ; )
