A Day In The Life Of a Scrapper #1

So this is the first entry into my kinda blog-ish thing chonicling my life as a scrapper.

So last night I took apart one of the 3 computers I got and I took it apart.I got normal computer stuff 2 Disc Drives,Floppy Drive,Power Supply,Motherboard,Ribbon Cable, etc. But one thing that bugged me was the heatsink was a pain in the a$$ to take off and after I got it off I find that the CPU is the type thats sodered straight into the board. But atm the contents are sitting in my garage in a bucket waiting to be sorted.Today I'm gonna take apart the old Xplorer computer I got.btw if anyone was wondering the one I already took apart was a Dell Dimension.

    PEACE!

    Update
I must be getting old.I was halfway through my TBS(To Be Sorted)bucket and my back started hurting and I'm thinking "I'm to young to be getting backpains!"

    PEACE!

Adam the proc chip you are talking about was it under a heat sink that was over the socket or just stuck to the heats ink with some paste?

I think the proc chip you are talking about is supposed to be soldered on. If you pull those off you may be devaluing the board. On the desk tops there is a socket with a handle that holds in the removable one, that is what you want. Check out the thread on identifying computer parts before you take anything else apart.

    Question
Anyone here watch .Hack//Quantum kinda of cool about this game called The World and how theres an "urban legend" that if a player is strucken by this secret weapon that looks like a blade infused with Darth Vader,Ghosts,Wall Crawler, and every other evil thing.Well if they do guess what?Coma.Yeah they get put into a coma.If this is gonna be real soon I can kiss gaming goodbye. Also this one player touched one of these "comaed"(coma-ed)with lets say your right hand in game, your real life right hand will get paralyzed for a short time and you get flung back like you just got nailed in the chest. Also if theres people who like anime girls that play with swords and act like totalbada$$'s your'll like .hack//quantum only the first 3 episodes are up on Funimations youtube I think more of them are on Funimation.com.

    PEACE!

    Hello
    another entry.
Just picked up a TON of scrap from my grandpa. He was a electrician and worked for a phone company so you can imagine his workshop.Well he got rid of a ton of stuff and let me have it.It had lots of steel,3 spools of copper wire, more insulated wire, copper and brass nuts, bolts and pipes,an old motor filled with bright wire and more!I'm gonna take it in early tomorrrow before I go to school.

    PEACE!
