    Finally a good auction

I have been trying to buy some things off some online auctions. I haven't had much luck until lately. I bid on a lot of cell phones but as usual I was outbid. Got an email several days later saying that the guy didn't pay and it was mine if I wanted. So I bought the lot for $225 sight unseen figured I could at least break even for scrap and maybe make some money. After sorting the phones and chargers I came up with 348 phones!!!! I just put one of the better ones on Ebay and sold it in less than an hour for $80!! Looks like I will do alright on this load maybe 10x the investment. Wish they were all like that.

$2.00? Take a look in the buyers section and see if you can find a better buyer.

Well if you are really, really bored you could tear them apart. But as stated there are plenty of buyers on this forum that pay pretty good money for phones. Way over $2 a pound. This is a great example of how this forum can make you some serious money if you spend some time reading. By the way sold another one over night for $55.

Where do you go, jdmead? If you don't mind me asking. My current yard (in Hamilton) is just now getting into escrap, and their prices seem to be just so-so.

I am currently breaking down a decent little batch of cell phones, and am planning on sending the boards to Ewasted's place. His current price is $11 a pound for boards, or something like $7 for a whole phone w/o the battery. Even with shipping factored in, that's a huge difference.

Wolf I haven't gone to them but I was quoting Ohio drop off's prices. I haven't gotten much into e-scrap yet.

I'll pay 2.00# all day for cell phones. I found that I make out better by selling the whole phone rather than braking them down.
