Scrappers are in-touch with the economy of our country if not countries on the other side from us . For me higher metal prices indicate companies are busy producing or lower scrap price could indicate a slump or same consumption but lower pricing to get the sale of raw material . What i see as fishy - is the higher cost of fuel and lower price in ferris metals which I feel should be in-line with fuel cost . I can finally attest that it is tricker now as finding is still possible but these days i seem to be at a fuel cost of $20 to $30 per day compared to $10 to $15 . I also feel the fuel must be getting doctored up with more ethanol then they want to admit to & I feel causes lower fuel economy also.
The hunt is a gamble & 10 bucks is a good number but $30 I am not happy about.
Exponentially its a big jump to go from 70 to 100 per week to 140 to 180 .
