    knowledge is money

well today i made such a great contact an electrical engineer who put me in contact with robotics physics and astrology departments as well to sell parts to which i know things always can have some value but like the tvs i scrap i did not know the amazing value they really have some tube tvs $10-15 or projection tvs mirrors $30 each for parts like heatsinks on tvs 10-30cents each on the tiny ones more for others.
i know for alot of you this is not new stuff but for me when i can sell the plastic gears that would go in the trash normally for 5cents each that usually get destroyed by hammer anyway. i can sell hundreds each week as fast as i can get them some even more for 60-70tooth ones.
or some of these one things i do not remember what he called them but i have seen them and for one part $4 or more that is easy to get off the board even clip in tiny heatsinks $2-3 each. i could go on and on from what i learned which he is going to take the time to teach me even more as trade for some things and buying others but i wanted to tell everyone this cause it increase my scraping value so much it blew my mind today even looking on ebay it amazed me just to see he was not bsing me.

I have done up all you talked about and even now i have 200 lb of tv boards to sell off as CB
AL heat sinks @ 55 lb
NOW Lets just say I start to pin point and take apart boards drills and more who will buy it . The yard represents out the door fast with $$ - I also once looked on NET and saw how so many items on boards cost $8 each so sure there must be a market
I guess once you know the name of said items then the one who knows names knows what to sell .
I imagine tech heads would like the items for 1/2 price but I for one like the fast sale. Still getting $20 for 200 lb of TV boards is probably a pittance of some of the true value of just a few items on board pardon the pun.

My local yard was needing some stuff to help top off their semi load their getting ready to deliver, so I sold a bunch of low grade for .20 a lb. and power supplies for .25 a lb.

indeed knowledge is the key and learning so much now it is amazing and yes knowing parts names is the big thing for selling i still have a long ways to go but thats the idea building a business learning and making everything count. ebay is the best way for large numbers of people for were i am in a college town it makes it much easier to sell but have no idea yet on full breakdowns but things like tvs, vcrs, and stereos that i would have had very little value on is now 5-10 times that.
