I stopped going through them as darkness fell. The last pic has a few of the cpu's i found, but still have 2/3 to go. One thing I noticed is how fragile the cpu pins are. I lost a bunch in the socket from a few processors, even when i was extra careful removing them. The gold doesnt seem be damaged, but maybe the way they were connected was weakened from years out in the elements. On the bright side I didnt get stung, bit or scratched, plus the guy was super nice and owns a computer shop. He does a lot of "art" with old computers and has a pseudo-museum at his store of vintage 70's & 80's computers.

Probably corrosion might have ate off some of the legs,

Probably just water getting under the CPU and going through freeze/thaw cycles prying the pins off because they were stuck in the socket (ZIF sockets). Those look like they were in the elements a while.

Too bad some of them looked collectable. At least it doesn't affect the recycling value much, just be careful about cuts.

Shendog, I do hate you just a little. I wish I could be taking those apart. I just can't get past the treasure hunter in me. Mike.
