Trailer removal? Small score

My brother got someone who had an old snowmobile trailer with a smoker mounted on it.

Went to take a look, 10 feet long, 6 feet wide. It has a 2 inch ball. 1 tire was holding air and the other was flat.

Bought a tire off cl the next day for 50, went hooked up the trailer with a new tire and pulled it home.

I am planning to keep it, it is low down and will be awesome for moving things around like mowers and motorcycles. Could even hold a couple furnace, but will be much easier to load.
Research shows it is at least a 2k lb axle, i put load range c tire on and will get another. it will be a tough little flatbed.
Really happy with it so far, and the smoker on it is a heating oil tank, but had a lot of time put in. Might hold onto it too, but definitely coming off the trailer.

Towing it is a joke, it tracks perfectly behind the truck(was using a ram 1500).

It take a weird tire size, 20.5x 8x10.
I will watch cl for another, but the old tire on it is till holding air, and barely dry rotted.

And i scored a set of trailer lights off cl for 20 bucks yesterday.

Now to get a bill of sale and register it

you might find a more common tire size by using the bolt pattern size instead. Call a local trailer sales or manufacturer and talk to them

yes there is a newer one that converts a 205/60 10 i think.

Problem is, i am CHEAP. I hate buying things for full price, so i will just watch CL for deals

i'm talking about your hub bolt pattern, it'll be something like 4 1/2 x 4 1/2, or some such numbers as that. I can't remember exactly how they size the bolt pattern. From there you could probably find car rims to fit

Oh, all i got from all the local store was " 4 lug or 5 lug"

The only good thing about the current tires, is that they sit below the bed,
any taller and i'll start taking up deck space.

I'll measure the flat tire/wheel that i have and see what the bolt pattern is

that's why i reccomended calling your trailer sales or manufacturer/repair/supply, whatever, and ask about some wheels for it. The first thing they'll probably ask is your hub bolt size/pattern (or whatever it is they call it)

well hek, maybe i lied. I went out and looked at both of these here and can't find anything like that. I thought it was stamped on the rim but only found a 14 x 4.5 on one of em, nothing on the other. When I was working with getting tires for mine several years ago, I'm sure they asked me about the bolt centers in some way there, now I don't know what it was all about, but thinking it was necessary for them to get me some rims

I have already become proficient at measuring bolt patterns, sold several sets of wheels and tires for $$

Honestly once i put lights on it, it is going on the road

You will find that that "Fatter" sled trailer tire has a higher load rating in the neighbourhood of 1100 lbs compared to around 585 lbs for the skinnier 4.8-8 rim size.
