I disagree. Cut the gold pins off and sell them for $100 pound, you can still toss it in with your medium grade boards after its been trimmed. A medium grade board buyer wont complain about getting trimmed high grade mixed in with medium grade.

Those pins are only coated at the connection end, you can see the rest is a silvery colour.

These came off of harddrive enclouser hot swaps bays, scsi connectors are what they are.. sorry it took a bit to get back, been sick and a death in the family and a mother in law with a mini stroke but doing well, and then I got sick,

I've about 65lbs of these.. it took me about 4 hrs to pull these out of harddrive enclosers, four screws to remove each one..
and the other enclouser had a lock on it, with leg lights and gold pins showing,

wow, what a long tedious work..

what did you ever decide to do with these things, bnb ? Kinda looks like with a pair of end nips you could make short work of clipping the pins

those are server hard drive adapters usualy from SATA to fibre optic. they are attached to the HD tray and plug into the HD. they are seperate and can be sold on evil bay for about $4, sold as connector ends or clipped and sold as gold scrap.,

I will buy them for $1.50 per lb.

it depends on the grade, $100 a pound would be lowgrade-midgrade and could be sold to a base rate buyer, ebay or to a specialty escrap buyer/refiner. I have a group of buyers i prefer to sell to, what i do is sort the stuff out by grade and email the pictures to different buyers, youd be amazed at the range of prices you will be offered for the exact same item. Im putting a lot together right now of 10 pounds of single sided solid gold plated boards, will get $100-$120 per pound. I have about 2 pounds of double sided solid plated that will go for $200-$300 per pound. But i have to sell that to an escrap buyer that specializes in high yield boards/trimmings/fingers.
