    New show

Been watching the gas monkey show fast and loud I think and how the upholstery lady gives them crap, anyway made me think of our days go. Sometimes we goto John Henry or Clinton Kelley two of our wrecker services, both are way more entertaining than even chum lee on pawn stars, then we have Wendell the bodyshop guy down the road who knows what's going on in tat guys head. Drdewaynes automotive is a mechanic from Vegas that calls everyone low down sapsuckers and other colorful adjectives, then there's his helper that's a whole different story. Noel the guy that comes and digs thru our tires once a week. Not to mention the hundreds of customers we have now with each a different story. One of our repo guys name is trouble looks like trace Adkins always has something to ay Then me and Steve *****en at each other all day, his exs calling him and giving him crap, then the visits to the scrapyard. What's your guys average day like?

Then there's my dad and uncle lol you would just have to see them to believe it then you would be questioning yourself

Cory sounds like you have the makings of a new reality show right in your yard. Have to come up with a name for your little group there.

The last thing the scrap industry need is another "reality" show. Look what storage wars did to storage auctions. And pawn stars did to yard sales. SpikeTv already attempted a scrapping show but obviously it was a faiil. If anything all they did was make scrapper look bad. If you wanna have a show youtube is the place to go. You have control over all of the editing and pick what makes it and what doesn't.

I was really interested in the people you run into during your day, the things we see and hear are priceless, the guys on gas monkey a while ago was griping about what to do on a 32 ford ended up losing money, we do the same thing on a much smaller scale we argue every day about a car in one form or another, no I don't want a show lol but te characters we see make our day you guys have to have someone you run into was all I was wondering about. NEW SHOW was just the title of the thread that's all

ive spent the last 3 weeks arguing with my dad about what cars to part out, im saying blazer hes saying explorer, the cost vs yield ratio is the same for each vehicle 1:5, so id like to think that both are a good choice, i find that cars that are too old or too new dont deliver a good ratio like 1:3 or lower so i dont mess with them, he parts out 3-4 cars a year and i do the same so its fun to mess with him, we are always trying to mess with and one up the other person to keep it fun and a good dynamic in the shop, my secret project im working on right now is im getting 3 geo metros, gonna part all 3 completely out by myself in less than 5 days. Hes gonna be spending the next 3 months thinking about how hes gonna one up that after i pull it off. Id say its more of the pawn stars father son dynamic, but some times it feels like the american chopper dynamic as much as we try to compete with each other.

We used to argue about that dang jaguar it's moved from the scrap list to the keeper list so many times I can't count, I think we are at the point now it will just hold its place in the back corner maybe the last one we ever scrap, it's been the next one on the chopping block several times just to be saved by a phone call, we haven't been below 10 cars in a while now but I do know it can go from good to bad in a hurry

The biggest character I know is my dad. He is retired and anytime mom can get him to help me the more piece of mind she gets. He used to give me parts lesson on the computer stuff we are tearing down. He would do 1 tower in the same time I would do 5 or 6 all the while talking about each part. He gets so involved in what he talks about I can actually go take a leak, come back and he is still talking not knowing I ever left. After about the third time I finally had to explain to him that time is money and he was killing me...lol. Now he tears into them as fast as I do but now he talks about what he did all week, down to the last detail !!!!!
