Today's Job with Photo's and an idea for all scrappers.

One of our local pharmacies was building a new store so the old store was being dismantled. When the auction was going on we stopped by to look around. When we talked to the guys doing the auction we negotiated for all the unwanted scrap. Shelves, displays, etc. They were more than happy and only asked for $50 for everything. Here are the pictures.

Here is the pile that went to the yard. The picture really does not do it justice. The pile is 30' x 40' three feet tall. close to TEN TONS 80% clean tin @ $12.00/100.

We also took out a 2000 lbs. Safe from that is retail $2374.15. I will sale it tomorrow for whatever my buddy wants to give me for it. It is almost unmovable alone cant even budge it.

The idea is if you see going out of business auction, sale, everything must go. Go in and and provide a solution for everything that they need removed. I Profited close to $1000 after all expenses. I still have some fixtures to move from the store so we will see.

That's really cool. How did you transport the stuff? Do you have a large trailer, did you have to rent a vehicle, etc.?

$50 for a 20,000lb load of scrap metal is incredible!

I did it all with the trusty F150. We are now over 337,000 miles. The best part of the job was that the scrap yard was only 2.5 miles away. Just up over the hill from the job site.

AND I told the guys from the company that do this all over the country about the forum. I told them this way they can get someone to come take out their metal anytime, anywhere.

I did not make as much as I could have on this one because with the holidays coming I took a bunch of friends that needed a few extra bucks. My buddies wife worked every other laborer under the table.

Ya it was Bear, I had everyone humpin. They were all real happy. They all wonder why I do what I do with all the JUNK. Always stuff in my truck and picking up things. I have a coal cellar that is my work shop and they look in it like ughhhhh. Now they all seen the money and know. I had so many people that when I pulled up the truck just loaded and off I went a few minutes later. There is just something about going to the yard though. It seems as though the second I pull off the scale it is the Olympic truck unloading event and I am the Micheal Phelps of getting scrap off. I think I would get the gold for Cast, Clean Tin, and Shredder. Reverse, ht the brakes, crash, pull, throw, toss, jump in repeat. Small stuff shuffle the small stuff out with a few kicks. Look over my should and kick out the handfull of leaves like I am going to get a deduction for 4 oz. of organic matter. Jump down slam the tail gate up.....
