I made it a point to go out on trash night this week and try to interact with other scrappers that were out there. I asked if they had any
ewaste they wanted to make money on and make space for more. First guy I spoke with had no idea what ewaste meant and the towers he sells at shred price. Second guy thought I was looking for a bathroom to get rid of my ewaste. Really!?!? After the confusion was settled he said he strips each tower for copper and aluminum. Sells the motherboard for .75/lb. I asked how much he gets for a processor and had no clue what I was talking about. Said he sells the board whole. I told him that I would give him 5 bucks a tower and he looked at me like I was insane. He said he gets 30 towers a month and would call me. It's been 2 weeks and no phone call yet.
I went to a local yard today to cash in on aluminum, brass, and other misc. things.
Light ballast .01/lb
Brass irony .25/lb
Aluminum heat sinks went as aluminum clips .52/lb
I asked about two motherboards I took with me and got quoted .05/lb
I said no thanks. I had three printers in my trunk that he noticed. He said that they don't take electronics but I can donate them to the yard. I use to really like coming to this yard. What happened!?!?
When I cashed out I asked the cashier about their pricing on motherboards for cpu's. .05/lb was the magic number. I asked if they sell any CPU towers or boards and they will not sell anything. Are they really ripping people of this bad?
