why do i love keyboards so much you ask because its like smimming in money

I have not always been a wise scrapper even at 30 now I still learn so much all the time with the help of others. one thing I learned a few months ago that blew my mind and padded my wallet was keyboards, something I usually paid no attention to. maybe stripping them for the mylar sheets and on a good day selling a few here and there but then I learned really how powerful ebay can be. I now have an average I can say I look forward to with a little patience. the keys I sell for $1-$3 each even offering a wide variety of discount options like single keys b1 get 3 free or whole sets for $6 and for older models and ones that may not pop off right I do whole box lots which are about 400 keys for $20 these are for the hobby type things people use them for.
since there so small and light weight I stock pile them in baggies and boxes on the small 3 tier self I have which I found near a dumpster lol. sure it takes a bit of patience about an hour a week or so to post and maybe 2-3 to ship but its cheap to do so and that way it im not killed by ebay/paypal fees but its amazing to see and now I average 15 single key sales and 8 various lot sales each week. sure this is not going to make me rich but it makes my wallet happy

Thanks a lot for those ideas - I pass on them all the time, who knew?

Can you post a link to your listings? Thanks again.

Also, typewriter keys are a big seller and easy to pop off.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

I've been doing this for awhile now, not the selling part but saving up all keys from all the keyboards I have scrapped with plans on selling them down the track as I know there are alot of people out there that use them for recycled art projects.

I also save up all plastic cogs from items and small metal springs to bag up and sell down the track also.

    Wot? You don't remove the mylar sheet(s) 1st ?
Yeah, I know, all those pesky screws to undo, lol.

Never thought of sell the keys tho. Off to dig in the k/brd tote.

When your ready to post the link, go and hilight the address of the link you want (one of my listings in ebay for example). Copy that address, and in your posting right beside the smileys is that lil earth logo (click that) and a small box opens up. Then you paste the address you have in the url line and it'll put it here like this. Diamond Stealth 64DRAM Video Card 1994 New w Book Untested | eBay
