Picked up another cha-ching dryer today

Got a call from my craigslist post asking me to pick up a fridge, oven, dryer, dishwasher and microwave. When loading the dryer I heard the sounds of coins in the bottom, and thought "cool, sounds like a few coins in the bottom". Was a little bit of an understatement. Ended up with 28 quarters, 34 dimes, 13 nickels and 45 pennies. Total of 120 coins for $11.50. That is more than I will get for the dryer as scrap, plus this one dryer had more change than what all the dryers I scrapped last year had combined. I love dryers!!!!!!!!!!!

Samsung washers sometimes have silver, real silver. They have used silver ion technology from about 2007. The washer creates ionic silver during the wash cycle. In order to do this, there has to be metallic silver present. So each of these particular types of washers, have silver metal inside the washer. I have never taken one apart, or seen the silver out of them I just know they exist.

Scott, checked out the owners manual for the washer you mentioned. It says that it has two 99.9 percent pure silver plates that work by electolysis. Checked the parts diagrams and there is no mention of them. Can't wait for the next one to come in so I can tear it down!

"Here's how it works: A grapefruit-sized device alongside the tub uses two pure silver plates the size of large
chewing gum sticks as electrodes in the water inlet system. The resulting positively charged silver atoms
    - Silver ions (Ag+) -- are sprayed into the tub during the wash and final rinse cycle"

Taken from the owners manual. Now I know where to look.

Going to have to remember that. Been some time since I have picked up a Samsung dryer.

    Thanks for the information...

I actually make colloidal and ionic silver. I think we are going to see more and more products like this. I also plate doorknobs and lightplates/switches, etc for homes and hospitals with silver, for this very reason.
