bnb{ no offense intended. but there are a lot of noobs come here and common sense is becoming more rare these days it seems. I only pointed out that many with no experience will watch that video and take it for gospel. that creates half a**ed uneducated competition we don't need.

I know we can't stop competition and progress, but we certainly don't need to muddy the scrappers water any more then it already is.



the video quality was very very good, may I suggest you do a teaching vid on the drives.

Here what happen a few days ago.. My daughter was in her room playing dolls.. and she wanted to go git a snack and what da yah know.. the door won't open..

She yells for Dad.. but dad can't hear chyt.. so then he yelled for BOB The BUILDER and He goes What Monkey.. I can't get out.. I need a screwdriver...

a few minutes later she was sittin at the table having snack.. Thats what its all about.. learning to work tools.. working to figure things out instead of bawling.. I CAN"T GET OUT>>>

CHILD LABOR Nahhhh..

They've learned alot, My kids can do grinders, to chop saw to screwguns to blow tourch, They learn this because I teach them.. take the time.. Most parents don't do that these days.

OLDDUDE, I"ve thought about doing that.. Teaching what a drive dows and how it does it, there are alot of scrapper that wanna be a scrapper but they have no knowledge of how these things work,

I've been in the computer business for over 15 years and started on the old dos punch cards back in the early 80 So. I'll consider doing a teaching video. Thanks for the Nice Compliments. My Kids are My world.

Hey Thanks for the comment and You right, If I would to take every screw out on them harddrives the video would be about 6 min of boring, so.. My kids, thought it would be better

to super speed the process...

but in reality, it does take time.. and You gotta wanna earn it... the Reward.. My kids are happy for what they have, and they don't quibble or say.. HOW MUCH DO WE GET PAID

They know also that it cost money for internet, xbox live cards, canides, movies, ice cream.. Oh boy I can go on with this topic.. bottom Line..

Get Your Family involved it gets things done faster... and have a blast.. Like We do..

As far as educating people. We cant help people who aren't willing to help them self's. If you can figure out how to get a hard drive apart with common sense or what is already posted on this forum you need to be doing something else. Nobody was there to hold out hands while we learned everything. It cost us time and money to learn the things we know so anyone else can do the same. I can understand someone asking how to get a stepper motor out or how to discharge a tv but none of us have the time to sit here and tell them how and when to take every little screw out.

I did try to do that.. only thing is... You would need a at least a two foot dropped, but doing so.. it weaken the bench.. from the pounding, the slamming and the dropping of computers, plus, if You decide to torch anything and it falls in.. well.. it could end up in the bucket down at the bottom.. best to do it flat.. works great.. You maybe have to remove the screen once every month.. I do it about almost twice a month as I do about six tons of computers. and such.

The table is specially design to catch any falling screws that comes out of computer or what not, What I did, I took and builted a base, and ontop .. I took two sheets of pressed boards measure are 24 inches wide by 8 foot long, and layed them on top, and then I builted a frame around the edge of the two sheets, and then I took one sheet of 4 x 8 mesh grate screen, and screwed that into place along the edge and I then slipped two by fours under the mesh grate and basically put three of them, splitting the difference up.. and then I would screw them into place.. one screw on one end of the diamond and another screw at the other end of the diamond, to keep the mesh grate from moving,

at the end I leave it open, if I need to slide My magnet stick up thru there to retrive a bit or what not.

I've since did some modification to my bench, I made a tool rack holder, and screw driver holder and a few other things, and made a tray for my small bits to keep them falling into the bit while not in use.

its been a great bench,, I've beat on it for now 7 years and its still a fine piece of art.

I tried doing a slant on the table.. problem is the base.. the table need to be a flat base so when You work on it it doesn't squirm around.. and also.. you would have to dig out your bits everytime they slide on down the slope.. I just take the top off once every month to clean out approx 49lbs of screws and what not. so flat is better.
