    Another scrap year officially started!!!

Made my first run to the steel mill today!!! $151.20 on misc. metal from around a house that's being torn down. Only 2-3 hours of work. I had a 55gal metal drum full of small heavy iron pieces, nuts and bolts, etc. that weighed 200lbs by itself, and wasn't even half full so I brought a couple drums home with me that I'm going to completely fill before they're hauled off. Also got a decent amount of insulated wire, and a pretty good start on saving batteries and aluminum!!! Iron is $12.00/100lbs here right now, so I'm going back to the house in the morning, maybe 1,000-2,000lbs left...how's it going for you guys???

We've hauled 45,000lbs of steel so far this year. That doesn't include not include non- ferrous , escrap , plastic or pallets. Best year we've ever had so far.

about $150 so far with about $200 that still needs to be broke down further. i'm only curb shopping 2-3 hours a week. long way to go before i can call myself a real scrapper.

Heating guys are the best. Great source of light iron, cast iron etc. They hold onto copper and brass, but leave lots of fittings and crap stuck on.

I dont know what heating systems are like in the south, but up here its 400lb cast iron minimum.
