    crt blues.

I went to a local recycle facility to drop of some gutted out computer monitors. They told me they no longer accept them like that. They now charge $8. My local goodwill no longer takes gutted montors either. I took what I had to a local Staples store and the manager gave me the old stink eye but took them any way. I'm guessing that place will cut me off also. Apparently these places want the goods inside monitors also or they just don't want to deal with more than one item at a time. My local transfer station charges $4 per monitor and $5 per tv. gutted or not. I guess I won't be picking up any tv's from the curb any more.

I gave local recycle place an ultimatum, either they accept them or get them in the dumpster.I told them I am doing them a service. Don't stop gutting them, its less materials in landfils. The recycle plant gets .10 per lb for them gutted or not, so its in their best interest to take them.

If the total amount is under 220 lbs toss them in the trash. Why leave it to go to the dump when you can save at least some of it from from going there.

Maybe they can't make enough money to cover shipping costs at .10 a pound (say shipping is .40 a pound), so they have to charge for them.

They have a minimum and they meaning the company buying the crts I believe they cover shipping also. You have to remember someone has to pallatize the crts and labor is not free also they have to store it till they get the minimum and that costs money also.

I am able to recycle everything but the tube. The tube goes in the dumpster till i can find somwhere that will take them for free. The way i look at it 50% by weight recycled is better than 0%. If it dont take them fro clients or pick them from the curb 0% gets recycled.

I finally found a local place thet buys low grade and midgrade boards, thats gonna eliminate the main problem ive been having processing them. I am still looking for a place that takes tubes for free locally.
I buy and sell all types of scrap and escrap. I buy specialty and hard to sell escrap. I buy resale items. PM me or contact me at jghilino@hotmail.com
I AM ACTIVELY BUYING ESCRAP OF ALL TYPES. BOARDS, RAM, CPUS AND MUCH MORE

Not in Maine. That is by US EPA standards. Maine has a stricter law.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

As a fellow Mainer, how do you dispose of crt's in this anti business state.

Send me a PM. There are a couple things that might make experiences different.
